Well the skiff is a separate set and the GWP has around 260 pieces allegedly, while the yavin y-wing has only 182 pieces. Additionally, it is said that it will include 3 minifigs where one of them is bound to be a tie pilot I'd assume. Most recent TIE (from mash up set) has ~500 pcs so either it is something in between, "base-scale" with accessories, or two small ones at most

I get sets that fit my collection so I can put them side by side. I mostly have bought sets at retail since they always seem cheapter than lego RRP. I bought my bigger sets when they were about to retire at good discounts

Firetruck, construction set, skateboard ramp and a ship? It's nauseating honestly. There's a similar, and imo better looking 20 dollar ship that I'll probably get two of instead.
Fun for kids that what alot to do it a playset probably, as they might find one of the more mature modular boring since the focus is singular, but not for me.
Lego has been getting better about decorative clutter, so I like to check out friends sets and some other ones and if they have alot of good set pieces to dress up a moc I'll get them for that alone. There's a dude, (who is charging way too much) for a book showing off alot of cool clutter designs even though they break the rules. Saw him advertising on Instagram, the book was like 30 digital 50 physical.

well the point was that -any- set is basically "worthless" as a "pile of bricks" since, after some point, you should already have a collection of bricks, and can build whatever you want

the only reason to purchase a new thing, becomes the few exclusive minifigs and/or few new pieces or colors of pieces.

this might not be the most-appropriate set pic to use (since it IS a cool ship), but remember this huge set? and everyone freaked out about putting Rex in it? Lego "forcing" people to buy it ($$expensive!!!) to get the cool character? a year later, and Lego put Rex in that tiny set? and people freaked out -again- because they felt they wasted money on the larger set? I think the best way to do it would be to use a B1 torso (reversed so the stud is in the front), arms, and legs with a bunch of wire printing all over it with a new headpiece that connects with a clip. This way the headpiece can be used for both the episode 1 incomplete C3P0 and the episode 2 variant when he gets his head swapped with a B1's head.

Only if you mean in scale to other Lego sets, because most ships were undersized for minifig "truescale" even before Lego SW started getting smaller and smaller. I'm pretty sure the actual Jedi Interceptors are probably the closest.
Then again, Lego scale is fucked to start with since width and sitting height are obviously out of proportion to standing height compared to a real person, so it depends which of those you're going off of. Although I personally wouldn't use standing height for most things.

Lego has sales data that shows Star Wars sets can sell for that much, so they do. there's no reason for them not to. the data shows that they would not sell twice as many for half the price, as it could. (even half that, is still much more than the JP set!)

Lego will not leave money un-grabbed, just to "be cool about it."

nobody knows why Kim Kardassian is popular, but she is. some things just don't make sense, but they exist. the public demands KK be popular, the public demands Star Wars sets be expensive.

Star Wars fans have only themselves to blame. if they stopped buying sets for these prices, they would certainly lower.

there's simply too many other characters for them to resort to her being included

we sort-of have a "cat head" mold already, but Ankha has an extra snake-thing that would need to be added, so it's a "new" mold. similar to how they made the -singular- Unicorn Horn mold for Julian, yet they could have made it a regular horse head and re-colored it for dozens of characters they now cannot

toss in the complicated color pattern Ankha would need... I don't know exact Lego printing/coloring restrictions, so I only assume it would be hard to match her head design.

all that being said... if one of the designers had her in their island... it's 100% certain we'd get her! I feel like the character choices are entirely based on the designer's personal games. which is what I'd do, if I could.

Star Wars lucked-out by making the Stormtrooper armor somewhat bulky and maybe could be used for girl chests, but I don't think that was intended. at least at first (I know modern SW put girls in that armor)

I fully buy into the theory now that this thing was supposed to be a UT-AT but was changed to a turbo tank at some point last minute in production. It would explain why the build is so shit stability/quality wise and has brickbuilt wheels, since they didn't have time to get special pieces for the wheels put into production. Watching this review cements the feeling for me that this looks like a MOC or an alternate build in how it completely lacks play features, a handle, and uses very little technic causing it to fall apart if you pick it up from the wrong place. Very clearly a rushed and unfinished design not keeping with Lego's quality standards and yet it's priced at literally twice what it should be.

Yeah I liked the balaclava look because that's actually what they should be wearing. Personally I DO replace all trooper fig heads. I just don't know what to do with the fleshie heads. Most of my troopers are black but I think I got white heads for the snow troopers and sand blue for the AT-AT drivers.
