Maybe it was from her childhood or one of her brothers (one died in a factory accident, maybe it was his). I remember the Wolf and Hare (Nu Pogodi) (phoneposting, so no Cyrillic, but you probably know the series), but where I lived it was best to hide my nationality heritage (almost everyone else was from Germany or Poland), and when they found out because of a careless picture (featuring a samovar with some very visible Russian on it) I had the living shit kicked out of me at recess. Good times.
I guess I will share another toy that I had from a very young age, built from a kit when I was five, made in DDR and bought from a yard sale.
Believe it or not, Russia has a surprising influence in the US, there is a Lukoil facility about a mile away from my grandmother's apartment, as well as a service station and I have seen some toys and games from Rosman, Star and Mango Art, especially Star.
