I've more or less embraced it and have it all neatly displayed, mostly in glass shelves on risers and contained to my home office. But I've been collecting 15+ years and even with selling some over time, it's 300-400 figures. I have more than I ever expected to and at times it feels like a burden. Fortunately, my enthusiasm for the hobby is finally cooling down and the collection feels pretty complete atm. On the rare occasion when I do buy a new figure nowadays, I also get rid of one so the horde doesn't grow any further.
>Do you limit yourself to just one franchise, one sort of scale or company?I limit myself to 1/12-1/10 and tend not to buy more than one of the same character(transformations don't count) but that's it really.
>How do you resist the temptation to by cool toys from franchises you don't know or care about?Nostalgia's the biggest motivator for me in this hobby. Most of the lines I collect are of franchises I've followed since I was a child or teenager. If I'm really interested in a figure, I'll look into the franchise first and see if I like it. I've bought one OC in all this time, Snail Shell's Lustia, and haven't opened her yet.
