I checked the rural Walmarts today but didn’t have any luck.

I live in a Lego and food desert (surrounded by crops) in the Midwest. The nice thing is there are three small cities within 45 min that have a traditional 90s style Walmart and usually life necessitates going to one of them to acquire goods and services. I also like to cruise to clear my head.
The toys are always a mess but that means I can usually find a deal or something put out on the floor before it should be.
I’ve also had decent luck in heavily urban areas (again the toy section is a nightmare but that’s what you’re looking for). Is there a Walmart you wouldn’t go to normally because of… reasons? Go in the middle of the month after EBT has run out during off peak hours and you should be fine.

No, I'm in California, so it's more jeets and spics than nogs. Which, y'know, not a fan, but I guess they're not as overtly disruptive. Although one of the Walmarts does have all their Lego (and pretty much everything else) in locked cases, so there's clearly still some Crime-American element at play. Which is also a big reason I don't like that store, because it's predictably understaffed and so even if I do find something good there I can't get anywhere else I'm really not motivated to wait 20 minutes for a worker to show up with the key.

Yeah that sucks. Brought up last thread but CVS or Walgreens are also a decent place to find hidden gems but often they mark sets up by a buck or two up front.
If I’m buying plastic I don’t like spending a lot on sets. I give myself a strict $100 limit and I only have 6-7 sets at the $80-100 price point.
I’m fucking weird. I also don’t give a shit and will unapologetically buy bootlego.

Putting a stud through fence studholes isn't illegal. I'm pretty sure for something to be really properly illegal it has to put enough stress on a piece to damage or deform it in an unapproved way.

Well yeah, I wasn't thinking of just one. I figure line two of them up into a 1x2 brick with side studs (double sided if you go with >>11495913 so the screwdriver end can poke through the back) as the "palm" then attach your choice of robot arm pieces on the top and bottom as fingers and thumb.

--if they DID decide to make a Titan's Tower, it would likely be based on Teen Titans Go! since it ran for a gazillion seasons, the Lego Dimensions sets were TTG
--popularity window passed, they had a movie in the theatre a few years ago (hey! it's Deadpool!) it needs a while before nostalgia age kicks in
--a Titan's Tower would be huge, $400, I wouldn't be able to buy it anyway. they would throw in a few villains that I'd WANT (Jinx?! argh!) the whole thing would be Zelda-Tree-Level disaster torture

I bought one of the first Mandalorian sets (with the tusken crossbow thing) and Mando's helmet was printed off-center (like... a lot) WTF I bought this $30+ set and my Mando is messed up? I filled out the form and they sent me another off-center-print helmet! argh. I fill out the form AGAIN and this time they email me and ask me to send a pic. since I was legit getting bad helmets, that was easy enough to do, but they made me send the pic. ugh. I finally got a good one, probably someone had to go look this time.

both times I had honest reality on my side, if you are just trying to get free stuff....

I've heard stories of people saying "I bought it on clearance and was missing BAG #2" and Lego would send the whole bag, but that's just a story I heard

How do you guys display your sets/MOCs? I'd like glass cabinets since I don't have to worry as much about dust, but they also need to be easily accessible (i.e. doors) so I can easily take them out to play with them. Picrel (not mine, just a random example) isn't really ideal since there's not much horizontal space and I want to be able to group like sets together and also make some scenes (for example, I have a few boats and fishing themed sets, so I'd like to make a small coastal town). UV damage is also a concern since the room they'd be in has windows.

There was one video I looked at, might have been shared in here, where they used some big industrial shelves. Looked pretty nice, only issue I had is they used magnetic tape to attach the acrylic panels. It looks good but it's not as convenient as a hinged door.

All the self pity and complaining he can't possibly afford sets for review is all a ploy to gather simply for when he launches is patreon. Thousands will rally in droves to support "the struggling Lego reviewer who's the only real one for not accepting free sets from Lego so he can unbiased"
You have to be an absolute fool if you think he is actually financially struggling in a meaningful way. His Lego collection alone is worth hundreds of thousands. Also you can recoup most of a sets cost by selling it after the review.

Have you considered the fact that no one is giving you the file after asking repeatedly because no one has it? The part is so cheap and available on bricklink there probably isn’t a need for an stl outside of you specifically. I see a few options for you

Isn't that a different color? There's the original bright transparent green made from LISA plastic (trans neon green) and the newer one that's a similar shade but doesn't use LISA plastic so it lacks the "neon" effect (trans lime green). Same with trans neon orange and trans orange being different, though with those the difference in shade is much larger.

The solution is unironically to not buy new sets. Why give money to people who hate you and want to rip you off? Buy old retired SOVL sets. It's cheaper than buying new these days. I got picrel sets on FB Marketplace for less than the price of Rivendell. For parts, I buy bulk lots. If you keep an eye out you can often snag ones that have great vintage stuff in them as well.

I don't understand why they keep doing this lame series of brick built consoles and appliences. For the Lego prices you can get the real thing and it will have a function too. Building a retro console made of simple geometric shapes with Lego isn't much of a challenge. The NES at least had the cool animated TV.

So a new Black Pearl set leaked it's gonna be $330 so more like $400 in my country, but there's also the 3 in 1 Haunted House set coming which feels like a super steep price at $90, for that price I snagged the Hidden Side train set yesterday so I'm hesitant to get that and just wait for the Black Pearl.

What I'm afraid of is that it will look as bad as the original one did (yes the proportions sucked and it lacked detail). You guys think it will actually be a decent set for the price or should I just keep hunting for overpriced Hidden Side sets?

Whipped up this imperial police gunship MOC based on an alternate build for the dropship vs scout speeder battleback since I grabbed one on sale for $26. I made quite a few modifications to the original rebrickable design but still only used pieces from the set. Unsure whether I want to apply the stickers or not

-developed the Lego bug lately, honestly shocked at just how shit modern Lego Star wars has become. Picked up a couple sealed 2012-2014 sets for good prices, think I'll get the R2D2 since it's a cool build and has Malik, but that's literally it for me. Hopefully Lego does something cool next year, coruscant build would be an instant buy for me even if the minifigs are shit. Realistically do you guys think they can redeem themselves? I don't really give a shit about the price hikes, I'll buy overpriced sets if they fix the minifigs and bring back 2010s clones.
