Hasbro have had 'deluxes' for quite awhile before then, so did mcfarlane at the same timeframe (megafigs). Though Hasbro deluxes basically are smaller so often times they dont feel worth it.
BAF parts are worthless and go in a pile unless you can sell them for more than it costs to ship (which is usually no) so no loss there.
Accessories really vary per figure and they certainly don't offer as much as they did in the 2010s as noted I was talking past year or so with that statement.
The big dangers in the past year from Hasbro are the Maximum line which is basically a scam and this newly revealed MTG card scam which was only announced like what, a couple days before my post? They're limited in what figures they can make Maximum as they have said so less of a danger of that taking over standard releases. But actually the MTG figures, if they sell well, will be far more dangerous, because they're pretending a piece of cardboard is worth $15. So yeah if they keep that MTG line up with wider range of characters then it is a de facto price increase
