Playmobil knocks it out of the park again with their Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole from the show Magnum PI. The detail on the car is second to none and personally I think it’s the best of the vehicles they’ve done… the Ecto-1, DeLorean, the A-Team van, the Bond Aston Martin, and K.I.T.T, from Knight Rider. Playmobil has cashed in on nostalgia and delivered what some collectors have always wanted, highly detailed vehicles from those iconic shows and the proper characters and accessories to go alongside them.
My only complaint with this Magnum PI set is not in the car itself, but the lack of Higgin’s dogs. Yes, he gets his parrot, but the two dogs were much more iconic than the parrot ever was.
All in all though, I’d say Playmobil has pretty much done every iconic 80s vehicle that we can expect at this point that doesn’t fly. Well, besides the General Lee, but I doubt that’ll ever happen.
