Autobot city battle/Megatron must be stopped/escape is genuinely such a good three tracks. They work so damn well together and I'm so confused as to why the autobot city battle motif isn't used in any later transformers projects to my knowledge

At most, or of what im personally aware of, you can hear leitmotif or bits and pieces of them stripped back throughout season 3, but that's all I can tell you on it.

So I was dusting my collection today when I stopped to take T30 Arcee off the shelf and mess with her a bit, honestly can't remember the last time I did. Despite the fact I actually don't like Arcee at all (I bought the figure when I was just buying entire lines) I think the 2014 figure is actually really nice on its own.

I didn't get the Studio Series retool despite (or maybe in spite of) constantly seeing it on store shelves. Did I miss an opportunity to replace the 2014 figure with a better one?

I gotta admit, that's one cool car, and those are cool blades.. . I wouldn't mind the shellforming if just more of her was in the car, but at least I see her thighs are. it's also always interesting seeing a transforming car with usable seats. I recall trying to make, from scratch, a transforming car that a person could reasonably keep piloting from the seat, and it never came out any good

When I got my downscaled KO set, Bonecrusher's hips were built wrong and he couldn't transform into his robot mode. I ended up selling the set to someone who wanted it more.

I found it weirdly easy but that might be because I studied like crazy and did mock tests leading up to it, but for me the part that nearly killed me was the monkey clicking at stimuli hazard perception element for the uk test, easy enough and straightforward, but it's a janky, unfit system that results in you having to gauge the timing of the system rather than perceiving hazards, you click with no cursor, just click, at the right time (which I can see coming, but the system is like ah ah ah but you didnt click it when WE decided it was one even though im hyper aware of things going on around me and in my field of view)
But to circle back to transformers, I suck at tests, but Dare helped me go in and maul the actual questions section and nail it, and I'm going to slap an autobot decal on a car when I make it onto the road.

I didn't ask questions, I just told them about all the problems (it had more but Bonecrusher's the only one I remember) and they still offered the money which I accepted for it.

I failed the computer-test for my driver's license twice, it was only after opting for a pencil-and-paper test that I passed, because I was able to revise past answers.

Anyway that was back in 2006, haven't had any incidents on the road as of yet.

I'm conflicted. I already got that old third party HoS Bumblebee so I really don't want to invest in a second one, but at the same time I doubt I'll ever have a chance to get that Megatron on its own.

Then again I was also pretty underwhelmed with the Optimus and Starscream set so maybe it's a moot point.

The Movie has such a good time OST in general, but I've been obsessed with Autobot City Battle for months since rewatching it. It's so fucking good and creates such an amazing sense of dread and urgency for entirety of that sequence. Which makes The Touch feel that much more awe inspiring and triumphant when it finally kicks in. You really feel like Optimus did the impossible when Kup says 'Prime did it, he turned the tide...'. Damn it, I wanna rewatch it again now.

It's lame but the rest of the toy is so much better looking than the SS86 I can accept it. Though I'd argue the partsforming would have been unnecessary if they'd aped the original MP closer rather than turning the transformation "backwards" for seemingly no reason (note the chest, with the windscreen at the top instead of the bottom on the Netflix).

Not really, the proportions are off in other areas (the cockpit, nose section)

It's not so much that SS86 has higher standards, it's just that they've been using it as an excuse to make what are essentially 2.0s of post-Siege toys, sometimes at higher price points. It's easy to look like the better line if you're just using the mainline as a beta test, but then again it's not like SS86 Bee or the new seekers mean they thought the ER Cliffjumper and seeker molds were not good enough when they did use them in SS86 before.

If a 3P figure goes over budget they can simply charge more. If it won't fit in the box the last release did, they can simply design a bigger box. If it falls and breaks into a thousand chokeable pieces that a toddler could choke on,they can still sell it. These sort of logistical issues are things Hasbro has to consider that 3P doesn't.

That Devastator is $360 shipped, thats pretty close to studio series pricing. Also size class autism literally doesnt need to exist. G1 was perfectly content with making each character it's own unique price point. As for safety standards, 4th party uses the hasbro approved designs with better paint at twice the size for a fraction of the price.

My resolve to stick with my upgraded UW Superion is getting shaky. I like the individual AOTP Ariealbots but not the resulting Superion. It's just too bulky and I don't like how the torso or head look. Meanwhile I still very much like how the UW Superion looks (even without the torso upgrade) even if the individual Ariealbots aren't ideal despite the UW paintjobs.

I'm not entirely sure that's gonna happen. Megs and Bee certainly won't get a restock - they're a ComiCon exclusive item and are only being made in a small batch for the event. Prime and Starscream are listed as 'Pulse Exclusives', and I'm not sure how often - if ever - those get restocked.

I sort of did my own fixes. Not perfect but I did manage to fix some of the issues. I used the clear windows packing and cut it into circles (two per knee) so they'd fit right where the spring would go. So far, the legs hold much tighter. I tried something similar for the left shoulder, but that didn't work so well (the fully extended shoulder can stay up, but the spring used for forward and back motion is held by a post and you don't really get space to reinforce it.

They don't need to recoup the cost and time of steel mold making because they steal them, they don't have to deal with shipping shit because they're much smaller scale, they don't need excess money for extra projects because they typically do a handful of KOs at most in relatively small batches

Hasbro has to do all that shit at a much larger scale and has to deal with suits breathing down their backs every step of the process

As far as Japan , their summer can be brutal but there’s other seasons that are more dry; the constant humidity is what ruins diecast metal. If you look around at Japanese second hand websites, you’ll see some figures dealing with die cast rusting, especially ones aimed at young kids. As someone who collects Sentai/power rangers, I’ve seen my share of rusty DX toys.

My thoughts after unboxing and transforming Silverbolt: trying to line up Superion's head with his chest piece is one of the most miserable TF experiences I've had in awhile and it's absurd that a commander class figure doesn't have any wrist articulation. He's saying that people forget to transform those bits properly. You're meant to fold that piece of the backpack by folding it inward, making it look a lottle smaller. On Armada, is lights are meant to fold back to vehicle mode position for super mode, but people just leave them in robot mode orientation, leaving notable gaps when transformed.

DotM was generally well liked and normies had positive thoughts going into AOE. AOE was hated even by the average moviegoers and bad reviews ontop of that which slowed tLK's box office. Last Knight is still a big success from a box office to budget ratio while RoTB had a similar budget to tLK but made the same amount as the far cheaper Bumblebee movie. RotB needed to make far more than tLK's 600 million to be a success.

Silverbolt here. Do you know how much it sucks to have to fly in the mainline again? First Hasbro forces me to get an update. No retool here. They tell me that I have to lug around a bit of kibble to transform into superion, which is nice, as I can just set it down when I don't feel like combining. But I look online and all these people are talking shit about my figure because I'm not directly connecting to the other aerialbots anymore. blokees are fun to build and fun to pose (ankle ball joints do 99% of the work because the hip skirts limit hip articulation) but if the main draw of transformers is the transformation for you they're not going to be for you

some blokees can have loose shoulder pad accessories but other than that they're usually fun to handle. It's definitely cheap plastic but it doesn't feel too bad

This gives me hope for a Titan Energon Optimus Prime. Thanks to his trailer being a storage container rather than something to combine with, Optimus would go past the Commander budget but from their words it seems the Titan Class budget and pricing is very flexible which might make Commander+ releases more feasible and hopefully somewhere like 10 bucks or more than the normal Commander Class toy.

It only became valuable because of the 2007 film that changed every aspect of the brand you retard. And yes 86 was a piece of shit that lost money and led to the decline in the late 80s-90s. If G1 was some amazing property it would have survived into the 90s and been adapted into a film instead. "panther" is a term that applies to leopards, black leopards, and then new world big cats like cougars, jaguars, and black jaguars.

The name leopard is unrelated to panther, it basically translates to spotted lion.

The confusion comes because scientists used panthera as the scientific name for all the big cats except cheetahs, but lions and tigers weren't called panthers at the time.

Essentially, you need the panther "face" to count as a panther

Motherfucker. Excellion just showed up today from Pulse, and I was wondering why I couldn't get him to stand up. Wasn't until I tried transforming him that I saw the issue - he's got two right feet, and since each foot is designed to tab into the 'heels', the one on the left side won't slot in and thus won't let him stand straight.
This is the first time I've ever actually had a QC issue from Pulse after all these years (other than that horrible Wolfang reissue); any idea if there's something they can do about this, or am I going to have to buy a whole new one just so i can have the dude actually stay upright?

While they still have no wrists, both Bee and Megs have hip rotation this time around (Starscream had none last time due to the way his transformation works).
Bee comes with a mallet and a pistol, while Megatron has his cannon. In an undocumented feature, you can retract Megatron's wrists and pull out the two anti-infantry machine guns that are supposed to extend in 'vehicle' mode and give him gun hands in robot mode for more firepower. You can stow both of Bee's weapons on his back - his pistol can plug into the same little hole it goes in for vehicle mode by lifting his back panel, while his hammer can sorta hang in one of the gaps.

Vehicle modes. Bee tries to copy Daddy Optimus by becoming another train, though unlike Prime's alt mode, I have no idea what make of train he's supposed to be; he has no hitch for a coal car or trailer the way Prime does, but his transformation doesn't require partsforming to make work. Both of Bee's weapons stow on his underside, out of sight. Frankly, I don't care for his transformation scheme all that much - it's pretty fiddly, and has to be done in a specific order so as to give his head enough clearance to be pulled out or tucked in.

Megatron's alt mode is far simpler by comparison - most of the actual transformation is in his arms. Unfortunately, you can't move his cannon up or down due to how the transformation works; also, his main cannon isn't blast-effect compatible (though both of the anti-infantry machine guns that flip out from his wrists, mentioned above, are!). I will say it's pretty satisfying to roll him around on those chunky, spikey wheels of his, though.

Here's a group shot of all four characters released so far. Megatron is easily my favorite of the group.

Like the Transformers Movie Script panel before it, people got a hold of a bunch of documents related to the story pitch "A Robot's Best Friend is its Dog" (ie: Muffy) which turned out to be a very different concept than the show we actually got. Also the funny thing in these documents is that they clearly thought the bad guy turning into a real gun wouldn't fly for CBS saturday morning, so they propose changing it so Megatron transforms into a "laser cannon, with treads"... before presumably Hasbro interjected that if they weren't going to advertise the toy correctly, then to just change it.

So half the documents feature the leader of the Decepticons being an OC named "Negator" who transforms into a "particle beam cannon", and the revised draft specifically states it as a "satellite particle beam cannon" so he can fly anywhere with no restrictions.

Also Transformers are energy beings that possess machines and Megatron/Negator has a big ol' jar of Decepticon energy balls that he shoots to increase the size of his army.

You'd think a water/flying type would have low viscosity. Trying her to Optimus Prime is definitely a mistake. If it was someone lower, they could also do stupid things with "I can fix her" or become disillusioned in the Autobot causse because a former friend seems to be thriving more as a Decepticon than an Autobot.
