I agree the arms could be thicker, but the proportions are hard to capture when he's literally made of rubber, so changes depending on how he's inflated.

Also VAH Luffy re-release with softgood. Honestly looks shit. The plastic looks better. Glad I got my Crocodile and Whitebeard while I could, because the inevitable softgoods is gonna be a downgrade imo.

Agreed that is hard to capture it exactly, but something about how his lower chest tapers into belt/pants really bothers me. His legs and arms also could be beefed up a bit, but that is just nitpicking compared to the chest (imo).

Yeah. He coulda been chunkier like >>11519575 but proportions have never been megahouses strong suit. A lot of their VAH figures look pretty janky, especially the luffy ones.
Still gonna cop though as who knows when bandai will get around to doing this form.

The closest art style to hxh seems to be zatchbell so I think these scale really well as expected. If the rest of the HxH line has similar proportions weshould be good. Kuripika should be slightly shorter than kiyo and leorio slightly taller.

Ino's best girl, but I don't know if she's popular enough to be next up, if even get a figure at all. Temari to go with Gaara would be great, too, though the quality and how toyetic her outfits are vary wildly in Shippuden. #5 would be my preference.

You'll need this 2012 ichiban kuji gintoki statue. Mine is official, but there is a cheap bootleg available on aliexpress. Its a bit of a gamble as some reviews say the bike came broken, but is like 1/10 of the price the official goes for now.
The front wheel and steering column dont turn, but I'm hoping ylto customize mine a bit to make it.

It's a prototype, so maybe they wanted to be careful handling it. Not for lack of trying, you can see how much pain around the crotch got scratched up, probably from trying to articulate the thing.

Not really. The statue is a bit bigger and the head is sculpted with the neck so youd have to cut it and dremmel out an opening.
You had me curious as to whether the hair and/or helmet were removable though and they are 2 separate pieces. Its not perfect due to the scale, but it could work. I'll let you decide.

Can't speak for Josuke and CD but I own Jotaro, Dio and The World + bootlegs of Jotaro and Star Platinum. Generally the sculpts on the BIG figures are much better since they're brand new and not literally 15+ year old sculpts they keep churning out every few years.

SAS figures in general I'd personally maaaybe like half a step, maybe full below the likes of something like a figma or figuarts. It's hard to describe but once you have one in hand you kinda get it. Not to say this is a bad thing by any means, just you might want to be that little bit more careful than you usually would when messing around.

The typical SAS bootleg stuff are shit and not worth anything but the BIG bootlegs are surprisingly decent quality. I'd say the plastic difference between a bootleg and a legit aren't too far apart but if course being a bootleg you have stuff like the sculpts not being as sharp, joints being a bit more loose etc. Still, I got curious and only paid like $20 each for Jotaro and SP and if you wanted something like a cheap version to play with while the regular BIG are on display then I'd say that's a viable option.

I really thought Storm would properly label their 1/10 figures now that they an actual 1/12 line but they just call both 1/12. I imagine that could be confusing for new collectors. Even in the descriptions they don't put the actual height only "1/12 scale" If you didn't know that Arena line is true 1/12 I imagine this could be pretty confusing.

Thanks, I ended up ordering a bunch of regular SAS on impulse lol, part 8 josuke with S&W, Narancia, Mista, two different Giorno plus his stands, Trish and her stand, the pink Koichi and Echoes sets, part 4 Jotaro and SP.

I really want Johnny but what puts me off is Tusk being an overpriced event exclusive accessory, Tusk is my favorite stand so it sucked seeing that.

As for the big SAS', I actually found what looks like a really good deal for Jotaro, Dio and their stands. Basically all 4 for what two would cost, only issue is Dio's peg apparently broke and got stuck in his back but I was considering getting them despite that.

Nice deal on the BIG. I got a pair of pre-owned Dio and The World stupidly cheap due to the latter having a ham-handed wrist joint that the previous owner tried to repair and have up on. I ended up just gluing one of the hands onto the joint since everything else on the figure was perfectly fine. Now I have a set on display and these pre-owned ones are ones I can just mess around with.

Weird thing you might notice about BIG Star Platinum is that he's more based on the Part 4/6 design rather than Part 3, at least based on some of the design cues I've noticed. I wish he wasn't the green colorway either but that's more of a nitpick since I prefer the blue and purple versions. I'd have loved to have gotten the Killer Queen BIG but I don't like the pink colorway.

I prefer the blue coloring for star platinum too but that's just me liking anything in blue probably, but I'll still take it due to liking the size of it.

I wanted the big kira and killer queen but probably wont be getting them for a while with what's going on. Or I'll be weak and buy them anyway despite tariff costs, time will tell.

One last thing I'm curious of. Does it matter if I get OG releases or rereleases? I've looked at some review vids and some people have said the rereleases were a little worse than the OG releases, I had assumed rereleases would be improved if anything

Again, it needs to be said that most of the SAS sculpts are between 10-15 years old at this point. No doubt there's some degree of mould degradation going on. Go check MyFigureCollection for some of the oldest release dates and you might get surprised and understand.

I had a re-release of Jotaro 1.5 and Star Platinum from a few years back. Both were pretty shit to be honest. SP especially was a floppy mess and one of Jotaro's wrist joints was guaranteed to break if I tried swapping out the hands. To be fair though my copies might have just been utter duds. It was mostly some of the old Part 3 OG releases that had QC issues that were fixed with re-releases IIRC>

Generally I'd say from the ones you listed you'll probably be fine. Just keep in mind like with what I said about handling them with just a little more care than a standard import figure.

Hopefully they'll do alt versions in the Arena line. I collected the main line because it was the only option, but not a fan of the softgoods. I much prefer the soft rubber they use for the SFII and Kengan lines.

Megahouse make statues. Variable Action Heroes was an experiment and whilst a lot of the newer figures look considerably better than the older ones, the articulation is still pretty busted.
