Should we be worried that Rebirth is fading away from cultural consciousness? It made money, but it was such a gigaslop that everyone forgot they watched it, had such a mediocre review, and already available on on-demand streaming platform. Seems like everyone who watched the movie just got lobotomized, their mind MIB-style wiped out and forgot about the movie. The toys are pegwarming and cluttering the aisles as well.

Despite having a good deal of points of articulation, the Nanmu Vastatosaurus has a pretty limited range of motion. Better than older BOTM figures like the Tyrannosaurus, but not as good as the newer ones like the Allosaurus.

unless they're phyically killed off on screen then Rexy, Buck, Doe, Blue, Beta, Theozenosaurus, the Atrio raptor team (minus Ghost) and the JW Mosa are all canonically still alive to be pulled back into the films at any point

Mind you the whole "they cant adapt to their enviornment shit is a supreme asspull when Wu himself mentions multiple times he's specifically created these animals to be able to survive in our modern atmosphere and envionments and so were other companies creating them.

Hello dinochads, I'm creating a jungle scene with the ML kazar, sauron and a smilodon from Cyberzoic. I want to add a violent angry looking dinosaur that's well painted, articulated, and is bigger than a 1/12 human. Currently debating between an amber series raptor or hammond rex/allosaur type. I'm not opposed to adding a wash and clear coat to make it look better. What do y'all suggest? I'll probably display it in it's own case so I'm flexible on the size of the Dino, but not too large either. Hammond rex would be the max size. Thanks!

I might also suggest these, but they might be a little small if you're wanting something explicitly larger than ML. Looking mean AND articulated is pretty difficult, there's not really much of anything of articulated stylized dinosaurs that will be larger than a 6 inch figure. You already know about mattels offerings and botm. I might suggest getting something non articulated, like an x plus one million year bc dino or gwangi(10 inches or so), or the W-Dragon retro tyrannosaurus(about 8 inches tall)

I would still like to see a Jurassic Park movie that is closer to the book. My biggest problem with the original movie is that Grant finds the eggs showing that the dinosaurs are breeding and then it's completely forgotten about, and the fact they are breeding has no impact on the rest of the story.
Of course, I don't trust anyone to remake a movie in the current year, so I am happy for my wish to go unfulfilled.

TLW has a lot of problems but I give it credit for coming up with a story idea that actually makes sense. Even Crichton had trouble coming up with a good sequel hook and the novel version of TLW feels like it's struggling to justify itself. The movie connecting the story to InGen's bankruptcy desperation and Hammond's redemption arc is a big part of why it works, which is why it's kind of frustrating that every movie after it seems to act like Hammond never learned his lesson. TLW ends with Hammond taking responsibility for the animals he created and securing a peaceful life for them, and then Jurassic World just giving Masrani his blessing to just do the whole damn thing over again and completely abandon the lessons he learned. Every movie after that just keeps acting like TLW didn't happen and Hammond was this crazy fool right to his end.

The first half or so of Lost World is pretty solid, but around the time the two groups start working together it just devolves into a checklist of things Spielberg and Koepp felt the movie needed. That's not even me inferring it, they straight up built the movie around a list of things fans of the original told them they wanted to see. It feels like Koepp did the same thing with Rebirth.

I mean the rest of that story, not the sequels. In the movie it's just "hey, they're breeding. Oh well." And that's it.
In the book, the fact that they are breeding is what allows them to escape the island and adds to the ticking clock of Grant and the kids needing to get back to the compound asap after Tim spots the raptors on the supply boat that leaves the island.
Even in the control room, when they realise they are breeding, it's a huge "oh fuck" moment because now there are at least 30 Velociraptors loose on the island, which leads to the proper climax of the story instead of the Deus Rex Machina we got in the movie.

What's the likelihood of the Namu ALPHA 3.0 Tyrannosaurus going for more than 100 at launch? Do these things typically resale absurdly high? I've seen the Indom up for reasonable prices on ebay, but that's not nearly as iconic as T-Rex.

Firstly, even though the Prince Creek formation was abovethe arctic circle it was not a frigid climate. Yeah, it probably snowed on occassion, but it wasn't remotely comperable to modern Alaska.
Secondly, there are no the Prince Creek or Yixian Formations in the franchise outside of JWE2 which isn't cannon. The species of pachysepholosaurus in JW is not P. perotorum from the Prince Creek it's P. lakustai from the Wapiti Formation which had and I quote from "very humid to temperate moist climate, high water table". Almost every dinosaur shown in the franchise was from a tropical or semi-tropical enviroment and would not have done well outside of the equatorial region. Sauropods especialyly, since there's no evidence of them living above 50 degrees north.

Absolutely annihilates the BotM Daspletosaurus in paint apps. Neck articulation is better, but torso and tail are worse. Her feet are bigger so she's got an easier time standing, but her ankle joints are loose and her tail is so short that she has a tendancy to fall forward. That's a bummer. I got their Tiger Stripe Raptor, the wrist peg of one of its swappable claws snapped off when I tried to articulate it, which was frustrating. I reached out to BBTS hoping to get in touch with Nanmu somehow to get a replacement and they just refunded me entirely.

Aside from that it's a really solid piece. Looking forward to their new T-Rex.

Absolutely disgusting on both accounts, probably hate the proportions more but the teeth are a defining feature of this dinosaur so they're equally fucking back. I love Bary, it's in my top 5 favorite dinos, so I want one but not for that price. I guess I can settle for Irritator. This one cleans up so nicely with a bit of paint.

I'm getting both desu. The Rexy/Doe coloring is so iconic, but the Buck is my favorite-looking of the JP-era Tyrannosaurs as a whole(though I particularly love Rexy's animatronic)

No, Nanmu has been pretty adimant that they won't make large dinosaurs in 1:18 or 1:12 because they are a small company and there are not enough people willing to spend $250 (or $500 for 1:12) on a single figure to justify the cost of production.

Probably not. It was kind of meh as an antagonist and I prefer my dinosaurs to look like dinosaurs and not just kaiju. It's not even about accuracy, I have no problem with the other hybrid dinos or even the giga which doesn't look anything like a real giga, but there's such a thing as going too far.
