>>11525159I was born in the mid 2000s. I spent my childhood building Lego and playing with Hot Wheels. Around the time of RID2015 I got into Transformers. My mom introduced me to MOTU and Transformers since she watched those cartoons in the 80s in university, and I got into TMNT and Star Wars through Lego. That's one way younger people can get into 80s toy franchises.
>>11525175I wasn't into vidya either. I did watch anime as a teen, but I outgrew it for the most part and now I think the stories and designs I make with my toys are far cooler.
>>11525186>It also is because im annoyed by how popular and over encompassing the medium is these daysSame here. I've also noticed that vidya/anime designs aren't as colorful and imaginative as toy designs. I guess they know they can sell those designs as "thing from your favorite media" rather than on their own merits.
>>1152527790s/2000s was a slump for toy cartoons. People mostly have nostalgia for Nicktoons, Disney movies, video games, anime, and Cartoon network shows. Toy cartoons seem to have had a comeback in the 2010s with TMNT, Transformers, and Ninjago persisting, but they're still niche compared to shows like Gumball and Regular Show and especially video games like Minecraft and Fortnite.
