They are a symptom of the "now'ness and fear of failure of modern people. Building Legos can be done almost instantly. You just follow the instructions. You dont need to learn to paint or sand.
Thats why you see people buy single kits and display them. Its just models for semi lazy people who want to build something.
Which is fine I guess. It keeps lego out of bankruptcy. And they never buy those tubs of Lego you see on market place.
