It might give them short-term success, but in the long-term it would lead to their destruction because Mega would be competing for the same demographic as Lego. Lego's target audience is the emasculated. Anime appeals to the emasculated. The problem with trying to steal Lego's core demographic away from them is that Mega can't afford to outbid Lego for properties that appeal to their audience.
The only real chance Mega/Brickshop has is to invest in properties that Lego will not, such as mature, violent themes, like GTA, Resident Evil, Gears of War, Halo, and Call of Duty.
To become a major competitor to Lego, Mega/Brickshop needs the most popular mature/violent ip available, and that is GTA VI. GTA VI would be perfect for a brick construction toy because it provides endless content. It's basically a mature version of Lego City, only now you also can make military vehicles. So it's Lego City x Call of Duty!
