Uhura, Sulu, even comedy-voice Chekov did not appear to be mocking the accent. we even had non-real checkboxes represented (half-alien!) and it all felt positive without putting others down.
none of it, ever, even watching it again today, "feels" like it's being shoved-in-your-face. (okay, to be fair, there's some women-rights-stuff that could have been better)
