I have to wonder just how versatile mod support for the Uni will be if that ever happens, and if that'll "redeem" the device. The P's and Meets got a lot of love in terms of custom content but those are already built on entries that are well-liked (either for how meaty the amount of content is already built in for the P's, or for gene mixing creating an infinite roster for the Meets), and while the Smart's getting custom content now, it still doesn't fix the shortcomings it has and it's still seen as a really shallow entry. Makes me wonder how well a Uni with custom characters and cosmetics would be, or with the ability to access all the original content without having to deal with FOMO. Seems like people are scrambling to buy Unis in the hopes of that right now, because I can't really see the reason to bother with it otherwise since the official servers are likely going to EoS sooner rather than later.
>>11566151The only color screen Tamagotchi I bother putting in anything protective is the Pix, since it's much harder to open up and replace parts compared to the others. Thankfully feel like that one doesn't scratch too easily anyway. But it feels like the screen/plastic quality's gotten worse since the Uni, since it, the Paradise, and the Connection rereleases have pretty terrible screens. It's especially bad for the Connection since those are no-backlight LCDs, so ended up getting screen protectors for it when I usually don't bother with that sort of thing.
