On one hand, it leaves me bewildered as to why any kid with an internet connection who's aware of the fully transforming things would ever want them, as opposed to the younger kids who are more likely to just break them trying to half-transform them.

On the other hand, it annoys me when j swing by the toy aisles to see what they've got and it's just hundreds of unsold cheap B-line crap instead of anything worthwhile or interesting.

Any figure that doesn't include symmetrical swappable hands. Mattel and McFarlane have been guilty of this when not including fist options for both hands but Hasbro tends to do it as well with stuff like the No Way Home Spider-Man figures.

I hate P-Bandai. I hate most of Bandai stickers except foil ones and waterslides. Why they just won't put waterslides in every kit? Scale models manufacturers do that, even the shittiest ones. I also hate fucking Lego stickers and it seems the quality of their plastic went down compared to my childhood sets from early 90s. Also I hate the new "matrix printer" style tampos on Hot Wheels, similar to >>11559137. That seems to be the most of my concerns.

Why do so many modern toys feel like bootlegs?

People who have never felt the difference between real and bootleg toys in the 90's won't really understand the feeling.

But there is definitely something off about modern main stream toys that I just can't quite put my finger on, other than the quality has dropped off so hard they're just producing garbage.

Man I still wish I had him. My family gave so few fucks about me that they wouldn't even buy me cardback solo figures. No Dennis Nedry, no GI Joes, no Visionaries. Softer plastic like the other anon said but also worse quality plastic. Plus toys now are either hollow (transformers), have worse plastic injection (playmobil), or they don't have as defined edges and details (Marvel Epic Hero series).
