McFarlane Toys' Prices

No.11561346 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
So McFarlane revealed a bunch of new Demon Slayer figures for $30 each today, with only some face plates to justify the price increase.

They of course experimented with elite editions for $60 with a lot of accessories and sometimes decent paint.

Their Warhammer figures are roaming around $35 when they were 19.99 only a few years ago.

How high do you think they can go for basic figures before they hit diminishing returns and they just end up with not enough sales? Is $35 the limit? $40? They're especially in a dangerous spot for it because there's a fanbase but also lots of people who don't like 7inch figures and don't like the way McFarlane figures are done. If he alienates his core, sales will be down.

Also in that vein do you think undermining the elite edition Doom Slayer so soon with the new $35 version was a bad idea and could blow up in their face and lead people passing on elite editions and waiting for the cheaper version?
