You ever notice how when someone can't defend a figure,they always revert back to "the detail" arguement. Instead of talking about how fun or articulated a figure is, suddenly they start preaching about the paint and sculpt.

The most obvious example is hot toys. They are too big to actually play with, and you don't really need more than 2 or 3 of your favorite characters. You certainly don't need around 100. When you point out that they aren't worth it or fun, suddenly their only arguement is how rare they are or TEH DEEEEEETAIL. Like you can get figures with the same details from Marvel Legends for 20$. The only difference is the fabric suit, which mezco probably did better.

the exact same goes for neca and kenner star wars. If you ever criticize any neca figure with a paint wash, suddenly all the necanons can talk about is how the paint job makes everything worth it. Like you can buy a wash for 4$, its not some super exclusive feature. Dry brushing is just as cheap. If you mean the sculpt, japanese companies have the same sculpt with more articulation. Kenner star wars is the most bizare one. They are the least detailed toys could possibly be, and look like birthday cake toppers.
