Space is even more drip-fed than castle, so I wouldn't treat the lack of Ice Planet 2002 as a full gone conclusion of never getting one, because Blacktron is one of the first space themes Lego created. At least you've got updated minifigs to collect, and they're really nice lookin.

The absurdity of this is at the price point they want for this monstrosity, you could buy an actual fish tank and some fish and a filter to clean the water and everything else you need to take care of them for less money.

Yeah, a real fucking fish tank of similar size or lager, plus some fish, a bag of rocks, some habitats and sea grass for the fish to live in, and a filter would all cost less money than a lego set of a fish tank.

What the fuck is happening to this stupid ass fucking company?

I'm not even joking, you could get a 75 gallon tank, rocks / sand for the base, multiple fish ornaments, a filter, water heater, food, plants, multiple fish all for LESS MONEY than it costs to buy an imitation of the real fucking thing!

This is like those photorealistic Minecraft texture packs. Minifigs are not meant to be super detailed and realistic, they were made to be blocky abstractions of a person to accompany the blocky Lego bricks in the 70s. At this point just make mini action figures like Mega Bloks.

Lego Fishtank gets bonus points for not smelling like a fish tank. have you ever had a fish tank? they STINK. and you have to clean it, too. the water gets all murky and it's a whole thing. where's the sucker fish to help clean the glass? Also, you don't feel bad if the fish die.

This is the only Lego piece I got. Not every find can be a total win. Hope everyone is having a good October. The creator haunted house still isn’t in local stores yet but I keep asking. I really want those minifigs that it comes with. Halloween isn’t much of a thing here though.

Love the current police car because it looks like a rad muscle car, expanded it to 8x16 in studio- gonna have to really build test it with physical brick to make sure its stable though.

Struggled to work without using a designated vehicle base, so many parts seem optimized to work with the 6x12 cars lego puts out- but the 8x16 I made had four seats, two rows, and me and friends think it has a more realistic car look. I just dont like how the grille is small on it, and the tires seem small too to me.

I see a lot of people like to redesign regular lego city cars into speed-champion style 2-seater cars.

I agree this muscle-car style police car is one of my favorites too. Little trivia, does it looks like an upgraded version of the other police muscle-car that exited a year before this one came out 60242 Police Highway Arrest set?

As for your build attempt, I get it you tried to use as many of the pieces of the original car as possible, but when you make a car longer and wider it becomes harder to keep the overall feel of the original car.

1 thing that I experienced that Speed-champion wheels and mudguards are almost a must because the city wheels are too small on 8-stud cars. But in your case they might just work.

What I would change are 2 things:
-I would keep the car a two seater, make the hood longer and use a speed-champion style windscreen piece to lower the roof to a more streamlined look.

-make the headlights 3 stud wide, and push the white strips on the hood inwards 1 stud, so they line up with the white strips of the front bumper

I get where youre coming from, appreciate the feedback, Ill try changing it to a two seater and elongating the hood and see how it looks. I get your meaning with the cars just not looking the same as two seaters, im shocked it came out as well as it did- early in the build I thought I was cooked and it just wouldnt work.

Heres a redesign I did over the night to try to get a more stable pattern with the plates that make up the base and undercarriage, before I heard your advice. I made the sides more flush, added rear views, evened out the bumper, and sunk both windshields- I def think its look better, Ill try switching it up with your suggestions and see how it looks.

That is actually a huge improvement that the side is more solid and not broken up with the doors.
As well as that you lowered the windshield, it does look more streamlined.

I think you could use normal 1x3 panel pieces instead of the doors if they don't serve a function anymore anyway.

Thank you, I didnt even jnow about the speed masters somehow. Im a little blown away by them, I just looked up their partslist and might try resigning this with the baseplate they used in theirs, but if this is stable when I do a real build of it then I dont really need to.

I, on the other hand, have rules regarding vehicles:

I think 8 stud wide ones don't scale well with minis, but it is just my own preference.

Minifigs are clearly on the extreme side of heroic scale but I def prefer better scaled builds despite that, to each their own

That SV-001 was one of the vehicles from Metal Slug I planned to make. I even submitted it to Lego Ideas, but it was gutted out by moderators. they took out the enemy tanks, soldiers and Morden, told me Lego doesn't do war themes at all, and that guns are bad. Rebel Army logo looked like a swastika to them too.

Yeah people way overdo details and shit, and stuff like super printing up the legs or easy to damage areas is a dumb idea, if I want a custom minifigure of somebody, I prefer it to not be an uncanny nightmare thats way too realistic looking or worse, a real head on a minifigure body for some god forsaken reason, but instead simplified down to late 90’s/early 2000’s standards of likeness, get it to be “oh hey it looks like that weird guy” instead of “oh hey that weird guy looks like it”

throw in the fact that everybody is exhausted about complaining about the PRICE. how many ways can we scream to the sky about multi-hundred-dollar sets? or why only a couple of minifigs? I paid how many hundreds of dollars for only four freaking figures WTF Lego??!!!

one of the only reasons I post is that there is a super small chance that an actual Lego Employee checks on "social media" (this is part of that?) and will be clever enough to "get" a point I make, and it might influence actual Lego... somehow. it's a long shot, but... maybe?

I feel like we are still in the middle of the multi-thread thing (and complaints about it) people still have things to "learn" from it. right now the chaos guy seems to be winning over the complaint guy trying to stop the behavior, and the site monitors who seem powerless to stop it (technically it's not rule-breaking hur hur hur chaos guy wins)

Yeah, I don't have much spare bricks just lying around. So I use stud.io and then order what I need.
I had many digital projects, some could be done with existing colors some don't. Most of them are lost, as my PC exploded and took my files with it.

More detailed doesn't mean better. That doesn't look affordable to cheaply produce in high quantities at a consistent level of quality nor does it match the simplistic LEGO aesthetic.

it's not necessary to insult the designers. for what it's worth, one of Lego's strengths over their brick-copy-competitors is the design skills and standards they maintain. That Mega Bloks Halo set was cool and less expensive than Lego, but it crumbled when you picked it up (some Lego sets do that, too, but mostly they are solid)

that puffy vest piece was a mistake, similar to the hat-with-hair. by itself, it's amazing looking, but makes other figures look silly without the upgrade

Well shit. I have really been looking forward to this one. But looking at it now I really don't want it. Too many stickers and too much crap sticking out. And no working doors? That's one of the trademarks of the DeLorean. They even managed to work that in on the tiny version for Dimensions.

HISTORY OF TAN
Many people cite the 1998 Adventurers theme as the first release of tan Lego pieces, but that's not quite correct. 1998 was the first usage of tan for basic bricks and the first sets with many tan pieces, but tan baseplates were used for the Western theme in 1996 and plates and baseplates in Western, Outback, and Divers in 1997. The first tan minifigure parts were used for the Indians in 1997. Tan sails were used for Pirates in 1992, which doesn't really count though since they're not plastic.
But tan was used even before that, some Duplo house sets from 1986 to 1992 used tan for pieces such as lampshades. The very first use of the modern tan plastic however is from 1982, in the form of the baguette bread pieces from a few Fabuland sets.
And the very first tan pieces (according to Bricklink's catalog) were 1:87 scale cars first released way back in 1957! These are a rare find today. Unfortunately many were probably thrown out without knowing that they were Lego.

yes
theres no way theyre putting it on discount and the fact that it retires soonTM means its foolish to wait if you have the money
I did not regret the purchase, although its a bit tight to fit all the extra knight minifigs I ordered inside so i'm investing in a central expansion that makes it wider between the 2 halves.

I'm going to do the same, seems the general sentiment online is to just buy it because any minute it will go out of stock and be gone forever. Just ordered $400 in Lego gift cards on Amazon since I get 6% back with the prime card so I have to wait until Friday for them to show up. Hopefully it's still around by then.
