I've never had them not give me the right pieces except for one time when they gave me multiple extras of parts I ordered. Doubled checked the order and they gave me like 5 or 6 of the same torso when I only ordered one. It was a butter yellow Hawaiian shirt so not exactly something I'd use that many of, but whatever.

Any particular reason why I never see Lego Ideas shilled on here? It's not like I see a rule against it so is it a matter of most entries looking like slop or is it misguided "not your personal army" board culture?

You should try it. Just made an account today and had a surprising amount of fun filtering the results to see sets that have a semblance of a chance at getting 10,000 supporters before the deadline and picking out the ones that I like. It's a fun little effortless "WE DID IT REDDIT!" activity to feel like you were a part of something as well as a nice way to pass time.

I feel no desire to participate after seeing the shittiest nominees win time and time again. 90% of the entries are either "IRL object...BUT LEGO" or "IP from my childhood...BUT LEGOOO". And even if it was an IP I'm actually interested in it would end up being an overdesigned 18+ $300 dust collector anyway.

The only Ideas sets I like are throwbacks to older themes and builds like the Viking Village or the Baracuda Island. However those shouldn't even be icons sets in the first place in my opinion, we should have those themes anyway, or at the very least in Creator like they've been doing with the castles and ships. Ideas rarely offers anything on that level for me to care.

I did take a shot in Ideas but never shilled my stuff. It was a frustrating experience due to unclear moderation. Some creators were allowed to do things you couldn't. I could not submit a simple modular tree for terrain building. Uploaded few digital MOCs and left.

Due to him necro’ing his retroshitter threads so much, I think the farms thread made him go crazy enough to eventually leave us alone but the damage has been done, and sometimes one or two guy tries to copy his shit, funny enough one of the retroshitter threads (and one of the last I’ve seen) got bumped off way before it hit the 14 day limit due to one of Paul’s meltdowns with spamming threads on here, very ironic

it sure cant walk ot swing the sword around because Lego minifig is basically an almost 5POA figure. and can do very basic articulation...

that's the entire hobby nowadays. most sets, including kids' sets, have too many specialized, small pieces for people to bother taking them apart and building new things, it's all shelf warmers. Destined to be thrown out one day rather than passed down to children. No one is going to take apart their UCS Falcon or Rivendell.

I might have a problem. I'm building 2-3 different fleets, with help from rebrickable. The republic fleet will get a Venator in January, but if that isn't in proper scale with Acclamator and Invisible Hand, I will be with a rebrickable one that is.
I also have a bunch of companion ships to Home One coming up in bricklink mail: MC80 Liberty, MC80 Defiance, x2 dreadnoughts, and a Dauntless class. All in scale to a properly calculated Home One (not the ridiculous 1200 meters that's officially claimed, that's how long a normal MC80 is).
Lastly, I'll get a rebrickable Munificent in scale with the rest of the Republic and Seppie ships. I really really like the starships line. I skipped Falcon because it's too iconic and I don't care about it, and it's more of a starfighter than a capital ship. And who gives a shit about sequels, I skipped Kylo Ren's shuttle.
Obligatory complaint about smart brick sets goes here. At least I'll have more money for other things in 2026, and the Ganondorf diorama wont buy itself.

I'm definitely a manchild but I do try to be creative with Lego now and then. Before I built my 2nd Acclamator, I tried my hand at making a republic Victory Star Destroyer, from the bones of a rebrickable alt build. It took me over a month and still I was dissatisfied with the slope of the hull being incorrect. It was definitely a nice "zen" thing to do though, and I honed a skill doing it (be nice, I don't have many spare parts and am an amateur builder).

I love how these smart bricks fail on all fronts in appealing to people. Parents are going to be sickened by both the price increase and for defeating the purpose in giving their kids something to play with that doesn't involve apps and for adult fans, those fucking soulless battery disposal symbols and general ewaste-ifying of mini-figs is outright blasphemous to the appeal of the brand. So now I just take the sticker sheets unused and keep them in the instruction manuals and pack them away. That's the one thing I fucking hate about medieval sets, and generally all the ideas sets. For shit like Onions Wars, Ninjago, Marvel, DC, even LOTR, you can just buy chink minifigs. Quality may vary but you're not stuck paying a whole lot more for a decent army size.

But shit like medieval and pirates? Good fucking luck. You're stuck with soulless fleshies or you gotta shell out the goybucks at PAB.

it took Lego a full year to make a set for Frozen. yeah. Disney Princess FROZEN. Elsa, Anna, the snowman guy. one. full. year. that was also an unexpected hit, very similar to what KPopDH experienced. (but more surprising, since y'know... it was... DIsney!)

I actually think the smart bricks and minifigs are not a bad idea. But they won't be executed well. We've seen the terrible looking printing on the minifigs, and both will be overpriced for a little speaker. I'm sure they'll be common in second hand bulk in 2 or 3 years time though.

Not really sure what Jangs plan in life is. His youtube career is failing, and will only get worse because he isn't willing to become sponsored or shift his style to be friendlier to the algorithm.

He will never make time for the city, or anything outside of apparently working 18 hours a day making reviews. And he's been out of the tech industry since 2007, so he has no employable skills anymore, if youtube fails he loses his house. The mini-figure was just introduced , but their where still producing small non-minifigure smaller standard vehicles. so they just packaged a minifigure with them. There was a whole range of these that faithful year.

this was from the ideas submission. the cave the goonies' adventure takes place in is housed in a facade of one eyed willy's ship, with some other scenes from the movie. way better of a concept than 'gray pancake almost 30" around that makes you puke if you turn it around.
