>>11611145There is no worldbuilding in this - both in concept and in photography.
To me it yells
>"Here's a castle - fuck you. Just a castle, nothing more - fuck you. You need more? Buy another castle or maybe that dragon in the background, I dunno... just... fuck you."What's even going on? What's the story here? Is the king boasting with his treasure, pissing the snake-knight off? Everyone atop the castle is also just standing around, being like "whatever..." and it all just comes off as boring, sterile and soulless.
Now, let's look at the Castle section of the 1989 catalog: Holy shit, there's a lot going on here.
The forestmen are going absolutely apeshit on that castle and everyone is invited on the Black Knight's side, be it the Lion Knights or the Black Falcons - when it's time to whop a fag in tights you don't chicken out.
Just looking at those pages is an adventure in itself and you can stare multiple times at them and always find something new like that one forestman who tries to shove himself through the window on the right or that spear lodged into the hole above the draw bridge with a rope around it that another forestman is climbing on while a knight is trying to poke him.
And you don't just have a single "one and done" set, oh no - there's a whole theme for you to explore with sets of different sizes for different occasions and budgets that you can use to build and expand your own castle world.
