>>11633196Well here's a few that I didn't see mentioned.
Bandai did a line for the then-new Thundercats cartoon and gave them all ugly black pins in all of their joints. Don't mind the pins but casting them in black made them really stand out and not in a good way.
They also started a "classic" line at a weird 8-inch scale that fit with nothing. They stopped that two figures in to do a 6-inch line that they then also dropped after two figures. The fields lay fallow until Mattel decided to squeeze a few more bucks out if their MOTU Classics molds.and birthed Club Thundera followed by S7 Ultimates.
Big Bang Pow, Embarrassment Earth's toymaker subsidiary, teased a Venture Bros line in the middle of the long lull between S3 and S4P1. But it didn't release until after S4P2. But the handful they did were a mix of S1 and S3 looks. And they made Brock a con exclusive. And they all looked like muddy dogshit worse than Jazwares. So much wasted potential.
Speaking of Jazwares, oh boy did they fuck up the license to print money that was Adventure Time. Complete crap that was often broken before you could even open them. Supposedly Regular Show fared just as poorly and they even made an episode about it.
I think the absolutely non-existent distribution of Bandai's line based on the Ruby Spears Mega Man was pretty bad too. I religiously watched that cartoon every weekend but never saw them anywhere.
Playmates doing Star Trek 2009 at three scales simultaneously and not completing a single set of the crew in matching uniforms was a royal fuck up.
Then ten years later they fuck up their new Trek line in half a dozen ways that made sure it never even got a second wave.
