People make their own families, this is true whether you're a gay nerd, a straight geek or are anti-social autist who plans to pull something untoward at a post office, chapel or school.
People meet people and they hang out. I was doing a Christmas Eve pot luck for years with a combination of foreign folks who were in town visiting and had no where else to go, friends of the host, and a lot of invited 'orphans.'
As long as you brought booze, food or both, you were welcome.

You don't have to buy Black Series SW clone troopers in stupid plastic santa hats, or TMNT turtles or Batman or any of the crap companies try to sell us this time of year, you can just do it yourself, with the things you have in your own home.
