>>11713471>impossible to get a diagnosis after death.Yeah, no shit. Because that’s not how diagnosis work. Same as you can’t be diagnosed with Antisocial-Personality-Disorder(formerly: Psych/sociopathy) until someone’s an adult, doesn’t mean they don’t have it, just isn’t something that can be checked or determined clearly enough that they want psychologists attempting it.
Dead people don’t get formally diagnosed for the same reason you can’t formally diagnose someone without direct interaction, you can’t be 100% sure if you’re not dynamically testing their reactions and responses.
It’s like saying no one throughout all of history who died prior to the categorization and invention of the term had socio/psychopathy.
We’ve still got both of the kids own god damn writings regardless, and they both paint a pretty clear picture of their motivations. And as it turns out it really wasn’t just or even primarily because of the buildings.
Tons of people are bullied horrifically during school and never decide to go murder scores of uninvolved random innocent people. Whereas plenty of School shooters experience comparatively minor unpleasant times in school and decide that’s justification enough to go and murder kids they never even knew, many of whom realistically were having the best times in school either.
And that’s not even getting into how many of them had very well documented fascinations with other school shooters and mass-killers long before they decided to carry one out. Fascinations, it’s worth noting, which often centered around the persons notoriety and being remembered for their crimes, rather than any supposed justice or striking back at society.
