It's basically an extension of waifuism and that's nothing new around these parts. You just have something tangible to focus on with a toy.

You basically create a fantasy where they interact with you and you get to set all the parameters to cater to your ideal. They feel what you want them to so you understand them completely, and they only want what you want them to want so there's no confusion or strife. It's perfectly safe because they won't hurt you, unless you want them to. This kind of love is unobtainable to find in the real world, because no matter how compatible you are with someone they still have their own thoughts and motivations, so why not just imagine it and enjoy a hypothetical alternative? People watch movies, play games, and read books to experience other things that are impossible for them to obtain in real life. This isn't far from that. Just more personal.

So go ahead. Date a toy. Just don't expect anything but ridicule for it when you bring it up on 4chan, because with few exceptions that's what you'll get from anonymous strangers on the internet. Just remember you're not doing it for them. You're doing it for you.

Depends on the individual. Most never take the dolls out of the house, so for them its a non-issue. For those that do, they seem to treat it as if they're actually dealing with a non-mobile woman and either use a wheelchair or carry them bridal-style. The dolls tend to weigh the same as the equivalent-sized woman, with the exception of the stuffed dolls, so I'd imagine they don't get many outings.
