Usually goes for around $150 if its white metal, sometimes around $1000 for the silver one (those are rarer hence the larger price but also less reference sales to go off).

Would you consider selling it? If so, maybe take it to a jeweller to check if its silver or not. Im not too sure. (And may be interested in buying if its white metal, but you might not want to because they are pretty valuable)

Well I spent some time working on everyone's favorite Toa of Water, Tatotoroka, the Swift Fisherman. I heavily redesigned his shoulder-blade and pauldron functions, and gave him a unique piston system, redesigned his poofy trouser/overalls look, and fixed the upper arms the only way his pauldrons would allow. And i had to completely redesign his double jointed elbows to allow him to reach his back. More details in the following pictures.

He has a more unified color scheme now, with a clashing trans green eyestalk and trans light blue parts sprinkled around. I also gave the fishing rod a form of cast-lock, so it will stop automatically casting due to the weight of the bait and hook. (And yes he intentionally only has 5 hooks in his straps, 6 didnt look right.) And his gutting knife is actually too big for a MNOG style Ruki fish like I originally intended as its lore-logic, so I guess its for Takeas now. And I dont now if you can see it in this pic, but he has PoWs trans blue propellers embedded in his calves.

Heres a backshot, showcasing all of his piston work and a bit of the shoulder assembly / flex tubing storage system I came up with for him. (All of the accessories I make for my figs have a clip based locking system. Its most noticeable in Inigos hand build.) Tatotoroka is also the second model I have put together that does not use the heresy neck connector, since hes rather stocky, and it made him look like a space marine, and not in the cool way. In the "I have no neck" way.

Heres a better shot of the arms, which have a double joint and are held together using the newer four-lengths w/stop. The shoulder-blades are actually what move the pauldrons to allow for him to raise his arms higher than his head. His arms cant completely straighten due to their design as a consequence.

I dont know if you saw my last posts, but I made Tatotoroka as if he were the equivalent of Gali in a Parallel Mata Nui. in that world Ga-Matoran are the only Male Matoran. Also whats to say he isnt like Orde or any of the other many exceptions? at least hes not your standard "good at everything" character. He was really intended to be a element shifted Pohatu at first. And every Toa I plan on building with a Nuva mask will have a Krana Built in the same way he does. Its meant to be a secondary mask power kinda in the same vein of how the Nuva were supposed use them ( The Nuva were originally supposed to be fusions in their prototype stage).

Plus it'd make no sense to introduce a villain and have him purely act as a vessel to his master. Maybe he'll get possessed later in the story (that's why I think Umarak the Destroyer is going to be Makuta's first set form), but Umarak the Hunter is just an agent Makuta.

What you do is go to wal-mart/greens and get a little spray bottle (should be labeled "fingertip sprayer") and some 99% isopropyl alcohol.
Pour about an inch or two of isopropyl into the sprayer, squirt in white paint until you get about a 1:6 ratio of paint to alcohol, cap it, shake it, and you're done.

Spray this shit on your mask, let it dry (either naturally or hit it with a hairdryer or heat gun), and you're done.

Doing it for its own sake seems kinda pointless, and you cant use them on a regular builds any more because they would look really jarring and out of place. Not that you've done a bad job or anything, just curious is all.

You should really give your heresy purpose. It makes it significantly more appreciable. They look real nice you should set up a sickfuck display case for them or something and hang em on a wall.

Eh, I guess I'm doing it to make the masks "fit" better.

Pohatu's kakama is weathered from front-to-back because of the fast.

Tahu's hau has mottled paint and pitting from constant heating and reheating.

Onua's pakari is almost worn down to base metal from the constant digging and abrasion, and has exhaust residue around the "vents."

Kopaka's akaku is primarily weatherworn.

Lewa's miru is leaf-splattered.

Gali's kaukau is boring because whenever i try to paint kaukaus in more than one color it turns out horribly.

Like, the satin finish looks nice under soft light, but once the photography lamp goes on, the illusion of heat-stressed metal dies. I could probably apply thin wash of glossy paint, but that runs the risk of fucking the colors to shit.

So many MOC's just arent possible because I lack any variant of these crucial pieces (I guess I have G1 bonkle ones but I am trying to stay clear of those since G1 parts are so delicate I fear that even MOCing with them is starting to feel heretical).

What's a good currently-available set to get a few of these pieces? Umarak has at least two but he's still a year away plus I generally wait a year before disassembling my Bionicle sets into the parts bin.

True enough, but as I said, I generally keep my sets assembled for at least a year unless they are story relevant beyond that point (I will be disassembling my Masters and adding them to the parts bin once the Uniters come out, for example) so I was trying to figure out if there were some current alternatives, Skull Scorpio has only one, I think Grievous has at least two double-socket pieces but am unsure how he fares as a parts-pack beyond those.

I think the piece on that sword is slightly longer. Looks like there's half a module between the center socket and the end sockets.

He does use shorter bones, so that's probably why, but I think with the wider hips and shorter arms it reminds me of G1 or Nuva Pohatu a little more.
