>>5251247>the current designer is not living up to the previous guy and it is showing hard with Ironhide, Rodimus, and Shockwave.I don't know. It's hard to judge. Different Transformers have different challenges in their engineering, and Hot Rod and especially Ironhide are some of the harder ones to do because their animation models were conceived separately of their toys, so there are some impossible things going on. Hot Rod, for example, has big, black boots that don't end up anywhere on his alt. mode. MP-09's solution was a bit of folding that looked okay in the end. This new one is going the shell-forming/backpack route, which could be worse, but it's resulted in some fantastic leg articulation. Do you see him kneeling here
>>5250953 ? That's kind of impressive compared to other MPs.
Ironhide is a whole different mess, because his entire alt. mode has to basically disappear into a robot mode that has nothing in common with its original toy design. I'm actually impressed we got the amount of cartoon/alt. mode accuracy that we did.
Tracks looks great, so I don't know what to say about that.
I like Shockwave, too. People just want to point at the backpack as the reason it's inferior to Quakewave, but who cares? If you're going to have a weak part of a mold, it may as well be on the back, never mind the fact it is completely removable. It gets a ton of other things right that Quakewave messed up, like the shins, the shape of the torso, and the shade of purple.
I don't think Kobayashi is as good as Hasui, but I also think he doesn't deserve the shit he gets.
