Yeah this is what confuses me the most. They did recently release remastered versions of Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 so young kids might understand the plot from those games I guess. But the fans who grew up with it are going to go through worlds they don't recognize with characters they haven't thought about for 15 years. I don't get it.

Here we go again….

Sora fucking broke down when he learned from Saix that the Organization kidnapped Kairi to the point of bending on his knees and begging Saix to let her go. He only cried when he found Riku was because Sora thought he was dead or worse, while Kairi was okay.

And don't forget the part where Roxas and Namine re-enter Sora and Kairi's bodies and the scene in the credits where Sora notices the cave drawings, pretty much now knowing that Kairi genuinely loves him.
