More like they spat in the face of anyone who was a Jem fan by getting the guy who made the Justin Beiber movies to reboot the franchise into some Disney Channel looking teenie bopper shit. I'm not fan of the toys but even I can see how hard they fucked the pooch on this one. It would as if they were to make a He-Man movie and instead of it being a homo-erotic 80's sci-fi barbarian fantasy it was about some some guy masturbating to the American flag with explosions directed by Michael Bay.

I didnt even know the movie was out yet, heck i thought they were still filming it for next year's release. does it still have that "stupid 80's cartoon" charm?

From what I read, it has absolutely nothing of the sort.

Apparently, it's the definition of "make something up, then shoe-horn in existing franchise". Just what I've read though, I haven't seen the film.

I have hear that it had at max like 5 millions to make the movi,e and that it look really really cheap. and it use alot of footage and cameos from youtube.

They use a couple interviews of celebs (and some of fans) praising the cartoon IRL and made it seem like they were talking about the band in the movie.

Also they used a real clip of the Rock talking about a Taylor swift song to make it look like he enjoyed the band's young blood (or whatever it's called) song.

Example, it use a cameo from "the rock" but it is she talking about another Jem, from a diferent interview, and some youtube quality clips from some tv show where they are talking about the old JEM show, but they make it like they are talking about JEM the movie.
