They never outright banned toys in general but it wasn't a good idea to take big ones there. We did have a small group for a time where we were building legos together making crazy stuff during recess.

hah, wouldn't have worked at all ten years ago with homework and other things like that. However with how schools lately are starting to utilize cheap schoolwork laptops/tablets, they could probably pull it off now.
