>>5322349>people in series don't matterNo disrespect, but a lot of the times they really impact the story and cause a lot of the events on the movie:
Serizawa in 1954
Godzilla vs The Sea Monster's castaway cast who wake him up and drive the plot
Katsura in Terror of MG
Miki in biollante, MG2, and SpaceGodzilla
Akane along with most of the rest of the cast in Godzilla x Mechagodzilla
I could name a bunch more, but the people do matter and create events, situations, and feelings that matter to the movie. If a godzilla movie was all monsters fighting and no side human plot to run along side it, it would be entertaining for like 10 minutes but it wouldn't have much to care for. A godzilla movie needs a human element to create emotional connections in its own right. Sure sometimes one has to make up for the other, in Deatroyah the kaiju plot was pretty much playing double duty to make up for the particularly weak human plot (whenever it wasn't Aso or Kuroki), but we need t to create emotional content
