But the base robot still looks better than the new version. I hate the giant cab panels hanging off the arms because they couldn't fold them away or something, it looks really crappy just having them hanging off obtrusively like that. The greebled chest is out of place, it looks neither like Hi-Q nor Apex Armor. It's like that Bayformers chest panel on Magnus. The red hands also look kinda poor, so does the cheap light gray trailer, but they're probably sticking to the old Hasbro colors.
It's so odd they threw in so many visual cues to the G1 toy, but then had to fuck it up with greebles and kibble, making it look worse than something from 1988.
Maybe I can hope Tomy does some remolds, like a new chest piece? I know they'll have the silver plastic and blue hands but if they retain my two biggest issues, then not even an import's gonna help. I know I'll be accused of geewuning, I don't care, the new ones got some ugly parts that I think aren't going to make me get rid of my reissue anytime soon. Hell, that's actually got more play value with the smaller robot, but I could live without that if only they didn't add greebles and kibble.
