OK /biog/, I've lurked this general since the first rumor of the revival of Bionicle. I haven't purchased a Bionicle since the green, red, and black Gladiator guys, and as a college fresan, was hesitant to spend money on toys, but I just snagged Onua, hid protector, and Skull basher for $36. I'm hype as hell right now, can't wait to build them. Did I get a good deal for these? Both Onua and basher were marked down to 13 and 10 dollars respectively. Other figures from the line didn't seem to be marked down, are the black ones unpopular or something?

I dont know, but obviosusly it makes some sense since they've been doing it this way for ages and its been highly succesful.

However, apparently theyve been having issues with stock leasing up to Chrisstmas, so you may notice some of the 2016 sets (not bionicle unfortunately) are actually already being released in the US. So maybe we will see it happen for more sets in the future.

Are they really selling that well? how does someone know? I've really been wondering how well Bionicle is doing and I hoped that it was selling, but I always see an abundance of sets at the stores so I have no idea, I guess it's a good sign that they keep stocking them and still have the Bionicle display box up at my local Target, though.

EB Games is oddly one of the most reasonable stores around my area. In New Zealand at least, I've found that every other store except The Warehouse will either sell their vidya-related stuff for even higher prices than EB or discount their shit so steeply when they need to get rid of them. Hell, as far as my location goes EB even sells PTCG boosters significantly cheaper than a dedicated toy store that has them way overpriced and I'm kind of pissed that this is even the case.

But yeah, online shops are vastly better in pricing the majority of the time, though I've found Bonkles to be cheaper in physical shops. Huh.

ASDA (Walmart) stopped selling Bonkles after the first wave. I picked up Lewa on clearance. TRU is still selling both waves and there's at least two stores pretending that the Protectors are still new.

But I'm pretty sure the things you're referring to are the "roll cages."
The exposed balljoints on standard CCBS torsos provide very decent hardpoints for attaching things, so I designed a technic assembly that clips on to fill space, add some "industrial" detail, and provide extra surface for greebles and details.

The MTron mech has a gundam-ass "back-shield" to protect its chassis, while the Ice Planet mech has an "ore storage" pod.

Just waiting on an LDD order to come in and I can build these IRL

One of my two local ASDAs only had the Masters while the other had Masters, Protectors and LoSS. I only saw G2 figures in the second one once, so I guess they sold as well as the Ben 10 ultrabuilds where I live. The first store had two Lewas and Pohatu on clearance for about month. I was going to get Pohatu, but he had gone, so I took the last Bonkle in the store.

What is everyone using to fill the spot for Gali's 3rd mask? Since every toa already has 3 except for her there's just an empty space that needs to be filled. I remember quite a few months ago there was a mask maker anon who claimed to be making his own but after some family drama he disappeared. Did anyone else do it? Only the big toa, and Onua doesn't even have an official instruction page about his combo, although it can be seen through the unity game's files. I saw someone post their recreation and copied it and it was pretty good for a combiner.

Play around in vanilla mode for a bit, then hit up "LDD Extended" for every available part.
Word of caution: LDD Extended has parts default to "Bright Red," but you can set the parts to any color. No prints though,

I think he's a solid set. Large black chestpiece is nice. Purple pieces, too.

I think 2016 looks like an improvement overall but the parts that come with 2015 are definitely worth it, especially if you can find him on clearance or something.

But I'm a completionist and had to buy them all anyway so maybe my opinion is skewed. I liked him more than expected and alongside Korgot he's a good set.

So, I've finally come up with 'backstory' for my MOCs. I decided to come up with these on the fly after realising I'd created 17 separate MOCS without having to disassemble any, and thought a shared 'canon' would be fun to devise. Apologies for the photographs not being up-to-my-usual-snuff, but the weather is terrible and consequently I can't get my typical good lighting. If you're curious about individual figures, I have solo shots. Anyway; without further ado:

I dig the skull spider. No ? maybe from a build viewpoint, but clearly not as a final render, the armors and such make them look very different, maybe they share the most similarities between skulls for you (and I would argue that skull grinder is more similar to warrior) but they clearly don't look like each other.

I think it's because they got the ankle sockets the wrong way around. The feet are trickier to pose than the clown shoes. Also, the Humongosaur feet were hollow and had no pin holes, so I couldn't attach the figure to a baseplate.

I've seen way worse cosplays than this one, this is more like a 6/10 more or less.

I have three bookcases and currently above five bookcases worth of stuff I put on them inbetween Lego and some other stuff.

Whenever I clean my shelves (usually once a month for the entire 3 shelves, dusting everything on it too) I rotate something out. It helps me actually dust it, since I am doing somehting more than just dusting.
