I used to go to my grandma's place as a kid, and for some reason I never brought my own toys (and I had a shitload and I enjoyed them all)
She didn't have any toys except this really old kind of dollar store quality doll that she never cared for or paid attention to
I would play with it in secret
caring for it and being generally nice to the toy
eventually i started to cut it's hair in patches and stab it with sewing needles, pretend to break it's legs and pretty much go full planelegs on the plastic bitch
i would abuse it and hate myself for it
eventually I got a Link figure and was super happy and brought it everywhere with me and pretended he was going on adventures and forgot about the doll
I kind of miss that doll, it's long gone, but if I found it again I would patch it up and hope to give it to whatever kid I end up having and hopefully they treat it nice

my mom was kind of abusive to me as a child if that helps
