Hello, /toy/,

I've been collecting pieces for a little scene. Now I just want to find some sort of fitting character(s) to match it with.
Would like to attempt some simple stop-motion, so good articulation is a big plus.

Size-wise I assume the little Japanese skellingtons would be of appropriate scale.

Do you have any suggestions?

Also have some pieces for a bathroom-scene (square jap bathtub and shower cabinet, as well as some patterned glass tiles).

Also some plastic plants and a styrofoam block with dirt-texture to make up a garden section once I have some more to fill such a scene with.

Man, the stuff in the first pic look neat. Place something near them for scale though, so we know what scale to recommend for you - possibly a quarter or a ruler

If you want more "normal" stuff, there's probably some 4" doll line out there I don't know about. There's also a well established line of furry dolls called Sylvanian Families

Maybe Stikfas. They are 3.25"/8cm wholly ball-jointed figures. They come in various body-types and are made for customization.

Unfortunately, the toyline quietly died in the late 2000s. You can only find them on the aftermarket.

Seems interesting.
Skellies might work just as well, though (I think they are 600 yen a piece here).
Have you any experience with them? Are the joints loose or anything like that?

I didn't really delve into them much. Not particularly my taste.

I do know that there were three runs of Stikfas toys

The hasbro run had the most consistent quality. However, they are all made out of ABS hard plastic so you can use the superglue or floor polish trick to tighten up any loose joints.

All the stuff here is from 100-yen shops. Lots of interesting stuff there, if you're willing to search a bit.

If you're in the US Hobby Lobby has some stuff. They don't say what the scales are but some things will work with 1:18 figures. You could try a store that specializes in miniatures/dollhouses if there are any left in business these days.
