Maybe you guys remember me, i ordered my first 2 kits a while ago. I build this Guntank within the last hour and now i was about to start priming it. But the box and the instructions only give me one variant of painting it: plain gray, which looks utterly boring. Are there alternative paint (or camo) schemes for that particular model somewhere? Besides, are all Gunpla kits as easy and good to build as this? The fit of the parts is great and it almost fell together.

Some crossover here from the Transformers threads, since I figure you guys might know better: Those Bandai Tamashii Nation's stands, will those work well with Voyager (usually 7-8 inches tall or so) or Deluxe (around 5-6 inches) Transformers? Are they stable? Mostly looking for something to help display the jet/helicopter/various flying Transformers, and these stands looked like they might do it, and I know a lot of the Gundam kits come in various sizes and have similar "chunky" body styles.
Gelgoog Guy !!XOac6frt+Ny

Pic related, one on the left is out of box snapfit
One on right is matte finish from top-coat can.
You said you don't like painting but what about small details on models that can't provide all the colours? Do you still use a paintbrush or gundam marker to fill in those details to make it show-accurate? It is really easy to paint small details, you can just use the markers themselves as well, however you may get more neat and precise paint with a small brush.

When you undercoat a model, the colour you use as your undercoat affects the colour you apply over the top of it. This is why it's generally recommended that you apply bright colours over a white or light grey undercoat and dark colours over a black undercoat. When you pre-shade what you're doing is adding shading to the undercoat so that when you apply a colour over the top of it, that shading still shows through the colour (because the colour you're applying is in thin, slightly transparent layers).

I heard that using mr mark softer softens the slide on curved surfaces, it is pretty difficult to use dry decals on curved surfaces.

>>5326165 Old LM-HG kits by Bandai from the early 00's, I think. They're pretty big, with the LM-HG 01 being taller than an MG RX-78-2, and are pretty alright kits. Main thing to know about them is that the arms have rubber sleeves covering them so they look more human-like/show aacurate, and those crack with time.
Anonymous
>>5326259 Why don't people just remove the rubber and use putty to replace it?

Thoughts on this concept Gogg? I like the paint scheme but don't know if I'm going too far with the teeth. Planning to use pla plates but noob
Ascendent GerbilÆ !!rNFZ81xXmg5
>>5326261 it doesnt work that way. the Eva kits used RG style inner frames in their arms, its a plastic skeleton wrapped in soft rubber to give it a very organic look without visible joints. however the rubber is pretty stiff and wears out over time, so alot of people dont like them. plus there is the old PG Eva kit that had an entire one-piece ruber body suit that you slipped over the inner frame and then covered in armor, which is supposed to be one of the most tedious processes of any robot kit.
thats why the newer Koto Evas just used regular joints, the Bandai ones were more show accurate and used more advanced manufacturing techniques but really limited their playability.
