Mostly looking good, though. Asymmetry is great, but I think there's a bit too much silver on the top of her mask. Keetorange is cool. Akida looks function-licious.

They are! All of the helmets and masks look very screen-accurate, unlike the more stylized human heads.

Though I gotta say that I don't really like the printed damage on Phasma's helmet. It's so out of place with her shiny new armor.

Obi-Wan's head sculpt at least is based on the animated series rather than attempting to be realistic.

I actually bought Grievous the other day, despite I don't normally buy this stuff, but I thought he was the only one that looked really good as a Lego figure. The last ones I bought were the first Chima ones and I remember thinking they were a lot bigger than I expected, but Grievous is a freakin' giant. He's like 13 inches tall.

I'm in the process of making a relatively anatomically correct ccbs/bonkle draft horse. Correct in terms of shape, structure, and joints, not organs or anything.

Does anyone have any pictures of similar kinds of builds they could post? I'm curious if there's anything else like this out there, anatomically correct ccbs stuff isn't very common. Thanks.

Yeah, but it's only really minor blue - on the torso engravings, and the Bohrok teeth on his feet to give it more distribution. I don't think that's supposed to be an elemental color - more like runic engravings, a la Disney's Atlantis.

I'm obviously not making myself clear. I'm looking for mocs which try to represent realistic anatomy. Animals, humanoids, monsters, whatever. Anything that tries to represent realistic bone and/or muscle structure. Not just horses. I'm making a horse because i wanted to do something with that hoof piece that was released with the animal themed hero factory wave. It's a cool looking piece, but it's fucking useless.

Man, read the review for 2016 Ouna.

That fucking waist articulation is so fucking godly, but missing arm swinging is making me consider combining the 2015 and 2016 Toa to make best versions of each of the Toa.

Also the creatures seem really cute and awesome. Gotta love the return to functions and technic. feels like home.

The proto parts that BZPgot are long gone now. You pretty much just have to see if you can get them out of the current members.

As for the 2015 parts that DV and Tufi got, that wasnt just a. BZP thing, a few other builders got the parts too. Essentially they were given to good bionicle builders who were close with TLG.

that would defeat the purpose. most of the things i build are based on a part that's hard to use or interesting, or something i put together while i'm absentmindedly fiddling with the pieces on my desk. i always have trouble when i try and build something with a specific goal in mind, like a character or object from something.

the build started because i thought the hoof piece was interesting, and i was messing around with it. i'd rather keep it and continue with the horse.

i'm also kind of biased against ratites. i can't remember why, but i really dislike emus. i think i had a bad experience with one as a kid or something.

Who else is combining their Master and Uniter sets together to get Toa with double gear functions?

Hell, if it's possible I may get two of each Toa- one to display, one to sacrifice to this year's figures for waist articulation.

Any other customization of your lineup? I've followed the instructions of the Bioformer guy and combined Skull Grinder and LoSS into Kulta Kai, just because it's a solid MOC outside of transforming and torso-being, and it solves the problem of a lame spider and a wimpy skelebro at the same time.

And the color matching is just gorgeous.

Ah, his name is DrScorpionX. I'd highly recommend his channel. Some of his spoken intros are pretty cringey, but his models, music use. and instructions both on building and on transforming is A-grade stuff.

Yeah I agree. Seems to be a split between experience with model kits and just a different culture.

There's also a difference in the east vs the west in the perception of robots and/or bugs. They're heroes in Japan, but in the west bugs are evil and robots as characters are generally more evil than they are good, though there are of course exceptions.

Generally:

Eastern MOCs have thick thighs that stretch forward more, thin, waspish calves, and small feet with toes the model can stand on.
Western MOCs have straight, thinner thighs, calves of equal thickness, and big, blocky feet with no toes to stand on.

Eastern robots tend to have spikes/tails/long things sticking out from points on the body.

Western robots tend to be smooth and/or blocky, very utilitarian.

Eastern robots almost always have a melee weapon of some kind, and Western robots almost always prefer a gun/laser instead.

Book's called Megaman Official Complete Works, it's one of Udon's art books. The info on character contests isn't much more than a few blurbs from various employees scattered around the book, though.

It will probably be about what happened with LoSS after getting knocked of the bridge (and maybe Slicer, who was apparently flushed down there as well). The comic on his packaging was set in front of a broken bridge, so it might have something to do with that.

It's a pain in the arse to search for G1 stuff on eBay since there's a bunch of people who are selling parts like they're on Bricklink. I did see six in sealed bags for £75, but that's a bit steep for plastic crack.

Looks like the dragon wasn't my last moc of the year afterall.

You know how only one arm of G2 Pohatu is properly armored while the other one just has a "shoulderplate" on it, how he has pistons on his legs that kinda look like leg-braces, a knife as backup weapon on his back and also seems to have some Australia-vibes with his boomerangs and all?

It kinda reminded me of a certain movie franchise, so here's Rockatan, the Road Toa.

It's pretty good. The torso is very long though and that Inika armour isn't helping it. From the friction extender upwards, it's great. What does /biog/ use their large Mata gears for? They work nicely for detail here, but not every MOC has had their arm torn off by a Muaka.

Guys I saw preliminary catalogue.
Ekimu is trans blue gold and uses trans blue Ekimu mask
The biggest set is fucking Umarak as a demon. And I litteraly decribed it. He look very evil and powerful with great new mask with big creepy smile
The middle sets are looking like rock monsters and they looked ok. Haven't focused much on them.

So I just build this guy. Didn't originally intend to.

And yeah, he's cool. Really surprised that he used quite a lot of pieces from Ekimu and Scorpio too. From the pictures I just thought he was Kulta with some borrowed parts, but I'm glad to see to be wrong. Shame that the Bohrok eyes are yellow, otherwise the color scheme is really coherent.

And now I want to get second of each of the sets so I can have Ekimu fight the demon too. All the delicious spare parts don't hurt either.

help me decide /biog/. I just got started colleting again with the 2015 figs. I have onya, pohatu, their protectors, and skull basher. It's overpriced, I won't debate that. Melum is barely passable as a Creature, there's not a Shadow trap and Kopaka is a mid sized Toa. If it's 25 Euro I'll be happy, but 30 dollars is a rip off.

But the figures are pretty good on their own, nowhere as beyond saving as some make them to be.

I wouldn't call the set unsalvageable, but if he was on his own I sure as shit wouldn't be wanting to pay 20 dollars for him. I'm very disappointed in the set as a whole, there's no worth at all and no real reason to buy it besides completionism.

I actually really like how Kopaka looks, I actually really like the look of his shoulders, and his sword is cool. His shield is terrible, although I like the decals on it. That much could've been executed better. Also, those random gold crystal pieces look bad, i wish they were silver. Melon on the other hand I give zero shits about, even if his function is different than Terak's.

However, my main complaint about this set is that Kopaka and his creature were packaged together. I would've been perfectly fine with there being six $10 sets, three $15 sets, and four $20 sets. They could've easily made Melum a little more unique and threw in a shadow trap and people would've bought it.

Again, I recommend building DrScorpionX's Kulta Kai combiner of Skull Grinder and Lord of Skull Spiders. Color scheme is perfectly preserved, Ekimu is unharmed, you get rid of LoSS taking up space, his gear function while limited still works, and he can transform to boot.

Look up DrScorpionX on YouTube, or just look up the term "Kulta Kai". Video has instructions on both building and transforming, so you'll be set with just that.

He's also the torso for a combiner of all the villains so far, but the other two combiners feel more like side-grades to their components as opposed to this guy. Kulta Kai is just a bigger, bulkier Skull Grinder that leaves Ekimu untouched.

By the time this comes out, selling Ekimu and Kulta won't be Lego's priority anymore so the Mask will be reusable like this.

Plus the gold version being reused in a polybag should avoid the risk of it reappearing on Ekimu the Mask Maker, paving the way for a new color or even a new mask mold.

Yes, the return of purple was quite a welcome sight, plus they have non-standard builds.
Personally I like black. It hides one of the system's ugly flaws by visually "melding" the bone and shell pieces together, plus it contrasts other colours nicely.
The problem is that at some point you get sick of black. Also LEGO tries to add various colours to contrast black that don't go together well and end up looking incoherent and overpowering the black. Silver, purple, gold, red etc. I think a single contrasting colour would had worked better. I remember people complaning about Basher's red and others swapping out gold for silver on Onua.
Also it just occured to me that Captain Phasma will be Silverpuke: The set. Even more so than Bulk.
