Here, I gave Nuhvok-Va a spinning drill on one arm. Despite the different connection, the elbow still looks similar to the other one. The elbows could be thinner (like those Toa Mata MOCs), but that would involve some heresy.

It's all attached by a single clip. Of course it's going to be loose. The half beams seem to be bending the shoulders a little bit when I build it. According to LDD, the claw in the pin is fine.

Don't have the new sets so far so I had to try something in photoshop.
Fuck, they really do look somewhat better with one or both friction extenders taken out.
Still, I think the torso shell is the main reason why they look awkward - it's way too long.

Yeah, the issue isn't the friction extenders, it's that the arms look short by comparison. Putting one at the top of the arms would probably do the trick

Whelp, here's the oldest Bionicle moc I have a picture of. (It's Elesh Norn from M:tG, New Phyrexia, for those that don't know). She sacrificed her legs to resurrect the Kardas Dragon, but she's still mostly intact on my junk pile.

I also have a keetorange chick with wheels for alternate feet, a big Dark green and black Cthulu-esque Titan (Tarduk's mask upside down as a face), a lime, red, and black Hero Factory bounty hunter, half of the hand held thing used to take the eyes out of the 2001 heads (Nuva shoulders to soften the hands) and two vehicles- one modified badass Cendox V1, and a glorified Grevious's starfighter/pod racer hybrid.

Skull Slicer is normally $15, so you aren't saving much, and while he's underarmored as fuck he has tons of bones and his gear function is great.

Onua is normally $20, and he's one of the best at his price point. Kopaka perhaps has too much armor and Tahu too little, but Onua is the swolest manlet of THICK ever. Good price.

LoSS is the black sheep of Bionicle 2015. $20 got you a golden mask and an okay build, but the actual final product is disappointing and unless you have a plan for the parts it's rather useless. However, for slightly more than 50% off, I'd snatch it up quickly. He's a mildly entertaining build that can help boost Kulta/Skull Grinder to an actually menacing size.

So if you have none, Onua is the best. LoSS is great value when paired with Kulta of Mask Maker vs Skull Grinder, and Skull Slicer is a lower-middle tier of summer 2015, so they'll be around longer. Also Skull Slicer has Lewa's mask, so having Lewa increases the value of Skull Slicer.

So the Barnes and Noble in my area stocked up on the new constraction figures, including the Star Wars stuff. Was gonna pick up Poe Dameron or Rey but I saw Umarak and I had no choice (much like Rey's family, I'll be back for her).

Umarak is just as awesome as the shitty BZP review made him look. Big, imposing, and he has antlers. His shoulders are really low, though, but thanks to the way he.s constructed (pic related) you can mod it really easily and make them look better. It doesn't even really fuck with his proportions that bad. If y'all want anymore pics just tell me.

As for anything else? Most of Winter 2015 is extremely solid after LoSS. Most you could argue is Pohatu being a manlet and Narmoto (Fire protector) and Izotor (Ice) having one bone arms, but beyond that any flaw (like Lewa's restricted neck) are either easily fixable or taste issues.

As for the Summer 2015 sets, Slicer you know, Basher has a good and unique function, Warrior is solid, and Scorpio while having 0 leg articulation and not many useful bones, does have a fun build and a cool function. Definitely a parts pack.

Mask Maker vs Skull Grinder (aka Ekimu v Kulta) is a must get if just for Ekimu AND the Mask of Creation. Kulta is a bit small, but with LoSS's parts he's proper size. Check DrScorpionX's Kulta Kai on YouTube- it's a good model even without the transforming feature.

Jury's out on the 2016 sets since the good reviewers don't have it yet, but Umarak is still God-tier and Pohatu is better than he looks. All the creatures by themselves have varying levels of appeal of technic heavy vs bone heavy, but Ketar the stone scorpion seems definitely the weakest.

Sadly the 2015 Star Wars sets after being hit with the royalties stick are worse value than Bionicle. Luke and Obiwan are solid but have weird human heads, Jango and Cody are too generic and don't have lightsabers, but Vader is bretty gud and Grevious while pricy is worth the cost of admission.

While he may not be that old, I drew his original concept about 2 years ago, and in fact these aren't even the most recent incarnations, the newest one features double jointed elbows, chest articulation and ab crunch, 4 pistons, and a tasteful amount of silver. Two birds, meet one stone.

While the shoulders on the Protector of Ice mic are different, they don't interfere with the head. The mask collides with the side armor shells slightly, but they don't knock it off unless you try to turn it straight. If they wear the MoCo, they'll have to look slightly up if they turn their head, and they can't look down.

Tl:Dr: interferes with movement a bit but they can wear it.

The first photos he posted were a little weird, and I think he did them quick just to get them up. Rit dye from before 2005 is what you want. It's hard to find now, but use whatever color you want. Get the water near boiling and pop it in, keep pulling the mask out to check it until you get the color you want.

No friction on Kylo's gear function so it's like gen 1 Toa floppyness. Illegal connection I think on the hilt of the lightsaber. That rule of connecting trans pieces with same plastic pieces? At least for me, it's neigh impossible to take apart.

Phasma's cape forces you to have the gross fluffy side facing out due to its asymmetry.

Overall, not bad sets, I enjoy them

I guess the idea is that the unity masks and creatures are on the surface level but Umarak and MoCo are underground in the labyrinth.

So my shitty prediction:
Ekimu gears and assgears the toa in the Ancient City and then sends them off for a quest to find the creatures that will lead them to the unity masks (Kopaka's box art). Umarak's traps will appear for every toa and once they unite they defeat the traps. Umarak himself appears for Tahu only personally and when Ikir and Tahu have defeated him he retreats to the debths of Okoto and a race to MoCo in the underground labyrinth begins. Toa will avoid the traps and challenges set by fleeing Umarak.
Ekimu joins the toa on the gate with his new gear and swaps the creatures with the toa to clear the obstacles.

Lewa fucks up, loses Uxar and Umarak flies safely to the other side.
once they get to him it's already too late. Umarak puts on the MoCo and transforms into Umarak TD

Recently got Korgot and since there's not much happening, I'll post some stuff. I gave her two extra bone pieces to make her tits larger. And to cover up the shooter. When posed correctly, she can fire the topmost stud. I suppose you could fire the bottom three if you angled the shells upwards.

I've pulled the shells out too far on this picture, but I personally prefer these tits to the old ones. I wish Lego would stop with the brightly coloured Technic parts when they're not appropriate. I know it's so that they're easier to find, but most 7-14 year olds are probably capable of sorting parts if they're not like me and just dive into the bags, building whatever's visible on the box. Is the centre part of the stud shooter available in any colour other than yellow?

Well, I'm still trying to build MOCs of everything from G1. The last thing I was building, however, was a Slizer/Roborider combiner. I'm terrible at combinations. I always start with the legs and run out of parts by the time I'm at the waist. This time was no different. There aren't any car boot sales around here for a while, so that's been delayed. I'm looking for cheap CCBS so that I can make more G2 and HF MOCs. I'm stuck with standard CCBS builds because I don't have enough parts
