I'm sure without commissions I wouldn't have done so many different things because for my own dolls I like a certain look while my customers want all kinds of crazy shit from me.
Of course I have certain things that are very popular and I need to do more often too, but it's okay.
I'm a bit lucky though because I know many of my customers and they are often into gore/horror, something I LOVE to do but don't like on my own dolls.
On top of that they have dolls I would never buy but can still look and customize through commissions.
Have to say though, this started when I mostly got bigger commissions, as in, not just a face-up but a whole package (moddings, airbrushing, scars, tattoos, face-up for one doll).
The "just face-up" commissions tend to be pretty tame, but I rarely do them.
