Arcadia:
used to be Yamato. Basically a garage kit manufacturer with a nice factory. Makes a small amount of hella expensive Valkyries from once neglected properties by bandai (Macross Zero, Macross Plus, VFX series and until recently SDF Macross) their toys are very very expensive but very high quality and have a lot of neat features. though they lack a lot of the tampo printed detail bandai toys have. dont compare hi metals with them as arcadia toys are really huge. they are more inline with DX chogokins. Sometimes QC can be hit and miss on certain toys
Bandai
Makes Hi metal and DX chogokin. Until recently only made frontier toys but is now returning to other franchises with Hi metal R and 1/35 stuff. Thier valks are very very good with lots of tampo printed details and some pretty nifty features. they have stepped up their game a lot in response to Arcadia. Hi metal R is the most affordable macross toy line right now and is super high quality. DX chogokins have a lot of nice frontier stuff but can be pricey on the aftermarket. They still focus on the newer macross series but that is changing now.
TL;DR
Arcadia
Expensive super high quality old and obscure macross stuff. if you want big perfect transform toys of SDF and Zero or VFX this is the only way right now
Bandai.
A lof of new macross stuff but some older stuff soming in too if you want frontier this is it but they have some new SDF stuff in hi metal
really neither is better they both make great toys and its nice to have a bit of both. but both companies will run hihg on the aftermarket depending on what you want and arcadia tends to be pricier due to limited production and no reissues
