>>5411318>2005Solid but unremarkable. The Ironhide and Ratchet are obvious, but not bad, and Deathsaurus is a neat curveball (though BW Megs would probably have been more interesting). Mostly let down by lack of direction.
>2006A really clever theme done up fully well. Every toy fits and the designs just work for what they were going for. Longrack into Dinobot is the highlight of the year despite its simplicity.
>2007Bug Bite is a very strange choice but he doesn't look bad. Expanding on Classics was a good idea. Dreadwind looks great, and the Seekers were an easy grab (though they make the set cost like a jillion dollars). Let down mostly by the fact that these should not be exclusives.
>2008My favorite set. Shattered Glass in its early days was a pretty fun idea, and it's an idea that works great for con exclusives - it's not essential, but it is neat. Megatron and Optimus are beautiful, the Autobot Seekers are a neat little unit, and none of the figures are really flawed (though Sideswipe and Blurr are a bit dated).
>2009The year where things started to go south. Flak and Landshark are bland, Kup and Thunderclash could have been done so much better. Banzai-Tron, Leozack, and Scourge turned out well, though. Razorclaw was kinda doomed from the outset.
>2010Another case of "not essential but fun to have," and one that turned out pretty well. The toys look unique and interesting, and the molds are well-chosen. Pyro came at just the right time, though he needed a new head. The breaking of the G2 theme is the biggest problem, but the toys still display well together.
>2011I don't need to tell you how great the Stunticon set was. It was everything it needed to be and more, a final hurrah for a great era. Even the written fiction turned out great. The only thing that could have improved the box set was if they somehow turned it into a combiner. We even finally got Action Master Thundercracker.
