>>5416762Renegades was fantastic as it was a not-so-stealth origin story of the entire G.I. Joe mythos. The series had a different take on the whole Joe concept, but by the end it was poised to jump right into the classic "super secret spec op team filled with colorful characters vs the evil super science terrorist group with cells all over the world" dynamic we know and love.
Had it gotten a second season, I'm sure it would've been amazing as they had such a large cast of characters to work with and plenty more potential stories waiting in the wings.
>>5416934The failure of the Hub pretty much doomed G.I. Joe as a franchise and killed any hope of a new season of Renegades. As of now, Hasbro can't even get a Transformers cartoon decent air time as none of the other networks want to play ball with them. Their only real option at this point seems to be going with an online-only or DTV outlets and I doubt they're willing to spend the money for that.
It's kind of ironic in that the birth of the 24 hour cartoon channels more or less neutered animation in general. Unless it's a series one of the big three can own in house, it'll never see major air-time and be forced to die an unknown death. And with the loss of these cartoons, the toy aisles also suffer because no one wants to make toys of things they can't market with accompanying cartoons.
