Are there any notable differences between the original release and the re-released version of The World? From what i noticed the original release tends to use a darker tone of paint and has a distinct line going from the eyes but i could be wrong. Anyone here actually owns both releases?

I wouldn't trust that picture, it's heavily doctored. To my knowledge there isn't much difference between the original and the rerelease apart for some questionable QC, such as googly eyes on the latter. See: "Za Wold" meme.

Well here's another picture captured using a shitty camera. It does look to me that the original release of The World and Dio both have a slight orange tinge compared to the 2013 re-release. But i would need confirmation from anons on that.

I can't believe I'm almost done here. My want list is pretty low, and once all the stuff comes in from transit I'll be good for a while. At this point, I'm strongly considering the rest of the part 5 crew just because they're so goddamn cheap. I also need to replace oldseph because I got the crappy older version and both legs snapped off almost immediately, but that's something I'm willing to take my time with after getting burned.

diavolo is a cool figure, but weird skintone is a common problem with that one.
I love my giorno, especially the sculpt. the skirt part hinders the waist but aside that it's solid. (I have the first release)
I only own GER, no regular gold experience. don't have p4 jotaro, only the p3 one. as far as I know p4 jotaro offers very limited waist/body articulation. looks fucking cool tho.

There's not much to go on since there's been no jojo movement outside of part 4 recently, but generally parts 6 and 7 aren't too popular for some reason. You could say this is reflected by ASB and EOH having a much, much smaller pool of fighters than any other part when they easily could've had more reps *COUGH* F.F and Hot Pants *COUGH*. Shit, Annasui was DLC in asb.
Part 7 is disliked because it takes place in America (even though Fujis love Gyro + Johnny) 6 probably because of it's ending.

What? Part 5 is crazy popular because the cast is solid, and 8 is currently running so naturally it's popular. Shit man, Jo2uke and S&W got figures already.
The anime was pretty flat too: animation for part 3 became very stiff as it went on, and part 1 is still just as boring to many people.
It's not like, y'know, part 6's popularity isn't evident by, I don't know, Emporio, F.F or her stand, and Weather Report (Stand) not getting figures or something despite it looking like Part 6's line is done, right? I know villians have come before the part's line finishes in the past, but since long ago the only things scheduled after were Part 7, with TG and Parasyte eating up releases.

What concerns me are the number of releases of Part 6, far less than previous parts, which seem indicative of Medicos branching out into other licences, and perhaps foretell of future parts being a lot more watered down.

Just as a quick summary, in order of release:

Part 3 - 24 releases (including 11 repaints)
Part 4 - 21 releases (including 10 repaints)
Part 2 - 7 releases (including 2 repaints)
Part 5 - 25 releases (including 8 repaints)
Part 6 - 8 releases (including 1 repaint)
Part 1 - 3 releases (including 1 repaint)

My numbers may be off by one or two that slipped my mind. Parts 1 and 2 are somewhat understandably short-cast, even if there were potential other characters, but 6, which has arguably just as many potential releases as some other parts, is worryingly few in number.

I'm hoping this trend doesn't continue over to Part 7 as Medicos spends more time investing in other IPs.

Josuke is fine. Actually if I had to choose one I'll probably choose Josuke over S&W due to his sculpt, his lower part of this shirt can slightly move, and accessories if you can rig something up.

Downside from what I have and seen is his head sculpt isn't the best and the shading on him is a bit iffy. Like too tanned

It's still a bit surprising that the whole Squadra didn't get figures, I know they very popular, it has a lot of potential, and every single Part has potential good characters to be made into figures.

Imagine a Will Zeppeli with a glass of wine, a bottle, maybe those flying wine things. Lisa Lisa with the glasses, scarf, the mask, the red stone of Aja, a Stroheim with a detachable torso so you can put his minigun and the ammunition belt as an extra accesory.

Dear god, I need secondary characters right now, maybe Stands too.

I bought the WonFes catalogue today, and as usual it had Medicos' future figure plans listed.

For Jojo we have Whitesnake, Gyro and Johnny Joestar, plus a new sculpt for Rohan. (Hoping it's his Louvre version)

Along with more Tokyo Ghoul, and even name dropping which Drifters characters they are intending to make. Assuming some of these are shown off, this show is shaping up to be huge.

In all honesty they should have made his Louvre outfit when they originally did his second sculpt. Making the Highway Star version, while kinda cool looking, was a poor choice imo, especially as you mentioned, other characters who appear in different outfits don't get the same treatment.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Shu is already on pre-order, Kaneki already had a prototype, and Juzo was already mentioned last Wonfes.

I wouldn't worry unless the length would affect the build quality. It would be funny to see the plastic tray have additional space to hold the ears.

I just hope Valentine comes out so I can buy 3 for that combo attack he did to Diego. Maybe make a in-scale flag to compliment him as a DIY project. Though I'd imagine head articulation to be a pain unless Medicos can sculpt the hair in a way that looks dynamic and regular to allow different display poses.

Firstly, what the fuck is Touka?

Secondly, as far as I'm aware, one giveaway in telling the difference between releases is that the first release box is matte, but rereleases are glossy.

Also, second releases have pros and cons. The pros are that they often redesign problem areas, like Kakyoin's easily snappable neck is thicker, and Joeseph's hips are improved.

Negative is often the paint apps aren't as good as the original. It's up to you really.

Haven't read the manga so I don't have much to go on. His design doesn't do it for me but I dig the masks enough for some.

Usually I get figures if I'm familiar enough with the source material but I do have a spot for one's who's design I've become attached to after giving it enough thought.

However with Medicos tackling these new IP's I'm not sure who will get chosen to get the figure treatment beyond the usual protagonist and villian.

I'm just surprised the colors they chose for this guy.

My biggest issues with Tsukiyama are the lack of kagune knife-thing that he used, a way to have the kakugan activated on the normal face, so interchangeable eyes or an extra head simply for the black eyes, and a manga-accurate colour scheme.

It's kind of surprising how they didn't do Yasuho or Paisely park by now, since they just randomly did Jo2uke in the middle of part 5 I think years ago. Paisley Park is undoubtably super popular too, she's got an amazing design.
Daiya and the Higashikatas would also be really great, but if they keep making lines smaller with 7 like they did with 6, we may be royally fucked in the long run.

Can you pull out the broken male piece from the head? If so, glue it back on with the strongest glue/plastic cement you can get, and sand down the ball-joint by a shit load so there won't be any pressure when you swap the heads and move it. Best of luck

His accessories are pretty rad given the special arm to attach the punch and kicks. Alone or with Diver Down you can get some fun display ideas with the proper setup (Diver Down's punches appearing from his sides with a background looking like it's coming out the wall)

Haven't encounter any qc issues on mines as of yet but then again I'm pretty happy with the setup.

I recommend him. Even had the time to display him and Diavolo as some weird shirtless brother team.

What sort of articulation does it make SPIV stand out against lets say the original SP? As far as i've seen from the reviews he has the shoulder swivel which was implemented in all Battle Tendency figures.

The shoulder swivel to me is a solid plus since I can get around more movement for his arms versus the original.

But the legs is where I felt the most comfortable messing around with. They took away the metal decorations on his hips and gave some room for those large ball swivel (correct me if I'm wrong for the terminology) and the sculpt or cut on his thigh to offer far larger range of leg movement. I can do a bunch of silly stuff with SPIV's legs versus the original.

Also the redone feet gives the better backward swivel movement as opposed to the original's shoe sculpt that sort of restricted his feet to swivel back far enough for certain poses.

Also the shoulder pads are attached by joints versus being attached to the originals scarf.

To me anyways the general playability and articulation for SPIV just feels way better whereas the original I have to limit certain poses. Even though the large ball swivels sort of stand out a little more the extra leg range is greatly appreciated.

But i appreciate your extensive explanation, having connecting pegs for the shoulder pads is definitely a plus. I can imagine that those are not going to stay on my SPIII for very long.

I don't have an eye for this part so forgive the rough shot but he does crunch a little more but it seems the hinge or whatever on IV is smaller versus the original.

Can't say it's "perfect" but take it for what you will.

Also forgot to note, IV has an actual waist swivel versus the originals static waist.

Tokyo Ghoul could easily last for a while, and if they decide to go back to Parasyte they could do Tamiya Ryuko, Murano, or Kanna. If they did a Mr. A/superparasyte from the end, they could easily sell a ton by having an equivalent to that salaryman figma but with crazy-ass parasyte effects.
They could also go back to Jojo and do releases for characters they skipped. No matter what they do, their quality will be pretty solid though, so hopefully if they pick up a big series it won't be shit.

Personally, I'd love more Tokyo Ghoul stuff, but that's just me.

And while I'm not a huge fan of Parasyte (I think it's okay, and I got SAS Shinichi and Migi because they're cool), I do agree that Medicos could have easily gone for more characters of that too. Not sure how to feel about Murano or Kana, though. Those are pretty much schoolgirl characters - not nearly as interesting as the parasites.

Ghoul was a good choice because the manga is pretty sollid, and the designs for most of the characters alone make good figures. I've never seen a thing on the series and that orange suited dude is very tempting with his crazy spiral arm. MC looks good too from the prototype.

You're right, I'll retract my previous statement. I'm just sick of the Figma syndrome with the many schoolgirl characters, but yeah, Parasyte has a small cast, and the only schoolgirls would be those two.

I would probably be tempted to get Kana, but Murano - I don't know. She just never felt appealing to me.

Definitely would get Gotoh. He would be an amazing release.

Much agreed. Even putting aside your opinion on Tokyo Ghoul, there are quite a few characters with distinct and interesting designs, so I'm definitely hoping some get made before Medicos drops the license.

Personally hoping for multiple Kaneki incarnations. The current one is my favorite, aside from the kagune (the tentacles).

I was hoping for his kakuja (centipede) form in SAS form, but I think the Statue Legend release excludes that possibility.

More often than not they often show off less at the show itself than what was listed in the catalogue.

Like, even though Rohan, Johnny and Gyro were listed, I'd be surprised to see anything past a grey proto of Gyro, maybe even colored if we are lucky.

The list often goes beyond what they have to show off, and in some instances we have seen annoucements that took years to finally come out since they appeared in the WF catalog (Part 1 Jonathan and Dio) and sometimes scrapped all together (Hierophant Green 2nd).

So them having nothing else planned for the time being makes me wonder if they're going to drop it, or if they have internal plans to go for more Tokyo Ghoul characters if the current three do well that they don't want to announce to the public yet.
