Got my NECA box from BBTS. Had Celtic,Sarah,t-1000, Stitches and isolation Xeno. They're all pretty sweet with no major problems, although stitches does have some stuck joints and the I don't see the xeno standing unassisted for long. I did manage to ham hand one of Celtic's wrist blades(be careful putting them in, don't put too much pressure or they'll just snap in half) but it was nothing super glue couldn't fix.

No blade arm and using the 'healed up' split head over the fully spread head is my only real bother with this set. I'm still hoping beyond hope we get a V2 with the exploded body. That'd be a dream come true.

Battle at the Docks Gipsy will have an elbow rocket, and I doubt NECA will do any more Gipsys considering how badly Reactor Blast and Anteverse shelfwarmed. Leatherback 2.0 seems doubtful since the line is slowing down and there isn't a pressing need for one like there was with Gipsy and Striker.

I know but most likely batd was canned after the poor performance of reactor blast so this seems, to me at least, the only option. I mean what else could they do for an ultimate? Randy said that if Striker sells well we might get Gipsy and Crimson and makes sense if they come in that order since Gipsy would need less new tooling than Crimson so that cash could be used to make the latter justice.
As for Leatherback, who knows, it was only a wild guess. I recall he said an improved version was going to be released and they even sneaked it in that pic with the diagrams for Brawler but again who knows. It would be nice to have a properly scaled, or at least, one with non shit paintjob like the first.

Actually, no, all the hands hold in pretty tight. One of the pointy finger hands is a bit too tight, even. The heads are kinda funny though, the eye hole and regular head pop on and off easily, but I had to do some heating to pop the split head on. That fucker had a tight neck hole.

And to be fair, he never two-handed the gun when shooting anyway, so uh, there's that eh? I do wish they'd included his gripping hand for the left side as well, since he shot the gun from both sides in the movie.

Me too. And I know he never two-handed his gun in the film but it would be cool to have that extra option for posing. I haven't tried him with a shotgun or rifle yet so maybe that'll work out better.

The articulation doesn't need to be amazing but I don't want uguuu~~~ anime eyes like the queen attack Bishop. That said, I hope he comes with two heads, one with his sunglasses on, one with them off. (I can't see a removable glasses gimmick working well). I know two heads is probably asking a lot, but I can't see him coming with any other accessories, he was only on screen for like 5 minutes.

For the longest time I never picked up predators at all. I just did xenos. Only predator I had was the NES jungle hunter. I almost grabbed the enforcer and Bad Blood. I kind regret not getting bad blood. I find the avp predators and I get them and only fuck babies. I love them. You all have seen my dis play in the last new threads. I really wish I didn't pass on a lot of the predators now. I want to get battle armor lost predator and bad blood and I'll be a happy fat guy. Also I really wish the T-1000 came with a left hand trigger finger as well and straight blades but oh well. Wow I rambled

Many of the Predators do share the same bodies, so you could just get a couple examples of each body and be happy with that.

Bad Blood and Battle armor Borg/Lost Pred use the City Hunter/P2 body, and they're both two pretty exceptional, stand-out figures that use the body.

Couple figures I recommend on the Jungle Hunter body are maybe the Jungle Hunter himself, or outside of that the Elder 2.0 (from wave 12) or Wasp. I mean, you already have the NES JH, so you know what to expect, but in my opinion, it isn't really one of the better Predator figures.

The AvP figures just blow must everything else away, though. The bodies, detail, articulation, accessories, etc are just so much better than everything that came before them, for sure.

Like...a lot different. Double jointed knees, elbows, gauntlet swivel, ball hands, ball head, swivel bicep, swivel hinge shoulders, ball hips, ball ankles, etc. They have an ab crunch but it's limited by the armor.

NECA did confirm they do have the license for it on twitter some time ago, and randy did heavily hint at a chucky figure on the way. I feel like the Chucky is a safer guess than New Nightmare Freddy

Did you read the quoted interview? Randy confirmed something NOES related is coming we just don't know what it is yet and there will be two horror figures at Toy Fair so Chucky could very well be one of them.

Not wanting to sound like NECAnon, but I can kinda see why they didn't bother. A working joe would have required a completely new body sculpt. They probably thought it was a waste of time making a whole new figure for a game nobody really cares about. The isolation wave only happened because 90% of the parts already existed from previous figures.

Everyone is hyped for the Alien 3 wave. The Weyland security guy is a cool looking army builder and is pretty much guaranteed to be a hot seller, so the new sculpt is justified. Because they're in the movie dude. Movie toys take a higher priority over a bargain bin game any day. Not to mention the design is a solid one, and will sell better than a crash test dummy any day. I mean shit, it's almost a bizarre Snowtrooper in design, and collectors and the general public love their armored up soldiers.

But, again, it comes down to what's actually in the movies that people have seen over what a significantly less amount of people have played. Would I buy a Joe? Sure. Those fuckers spooked me a good couple of times in the game, but I'm definitely more excited getting a Weyland Soldier.

Hell, I'd probably prefer some of the prisoners before getting a Working Joe...

I don't think its really fair to say it like that. Isolation was one of the better horror games in a while, and they worked hard to stay true to the original movie and atmosphere.

And the Weyland Troops appear for like, 5 minutes in the movie, and the Working Joes are debatably the main antagonists of the game. Probably around more than the Xeno, even.

But you're right. The troopers are in the movie so people will know them more, and massable troops always sell well anyway.

I only brought up the sculpt thing because the original post I replied to made it sound like they wouldn't do the Joes because they required a new sculpt, but the soldier didn't.

But I guess that isn't what he meant, so I just read into his post wrong, I suppose.

Probably because any Predator they have left to do is either a bulky predator, like the avp ones, scarface, capcom predators or a kenner predators which theyre allowed to take some creative freedom with

Theres also a new Predator movie in the works, depending on the stature of those predators, we might get the older slimmer bodies that are more film accurate to the older movies.

but an unltimate Jungle Predator is "under consideration" or something like that, so maybe we'll get a newer body more accurate to the older movies with the articulation of the new bulky bodies

I guess there's also ones from the comics theyre probably gonna do. It's hard to say what bodies we'll see from now on

I hate to break it to you, but that's pretty much exactly what they were when they were a practical effect in the film.

They look tons better than the McFarlane sculpt, like, they actually look the way they should. Todd's toys always were less about accuracy and more about...kinda doing whatever the hell they wanted to get close enough.

Picked up Isolation Xeno today at TRU! He's pretty great. My first Xeno so I have a few questions:

-The waist/ribcage is a little loose, what's the best way to tighten it up? Can it just pop in and off?
-there's a removable piece on his neck. Why?
-How far back is his head supposed to tilt? Can he do a four legged pose with the head facing forward?

Sorry if this is stupid, I only have 2 Predators so I'm still trying to figure out the limitations of these. I'm really afraid of breaking something.

One thing you could do, if you have a plastic syringe you could push some elmer's glue into the ball joint under the ribs and that'd help tighten it up. You CAN pop it apart using boiling water and all that...but unless you know what you're doing, you could damage the figure.

The removable neck piece is so the head can move back all the way for the crouching poses. It was more meant for the Warriors than Big Chap, since Big Chap never really moved the same way they did. Though to be fair, in this instance, removing the back spine is actually more game accurate, as that particular xeno didn't have it.
It can take some wiggling but the head can move back pretty far. It won't be a perfect 90 degrees or anything, but still.

Might want to look into the Figma Kacolle/Kantai Collection/Boatshit releases, they generally don't come with an elaborate suite of boat parts like the AGPs but they're cheaper and the figures are slightly better-made than Bandai's.

Don't think they've done those two characters yet, though.

Yes, the wrist blades are brittle and the legs are loose too. I bought it from an anon on the BST a couple years ago or so, he said that's how it came. Guitar is my GF's. Not sure who makes it, she borrowed it from her Aunt and has been practicing.

I caved in and got celtic from forbidden planet for £28. Honestly he's my favourite of the trio.

I just bought Celtic today to complete the trio. Since it was the only one I bought from a store with a decent return policy, I decided to push the articulation more than the other two.

Keeping in mind that anon who snapped the gear off when moving the torso, I gave it a twist and sure enough it unglued at the waist. I thought it was pretty weird that it would not only be one piece, but even glued down to both its waist and back. I sliced it right at the belt and glued that back down, and left the other part to hang freely off his back. Much improved now. Hopefully future uses of this body don't have parts getting in the way of the range of motion for the new articulation.

I think Neca did a better job capturing his likeness with Hicks than they did with Reese, something about the hair and eyes always seemed off to me. And not surprisingly, the prototype looked way better than the final release.

What is it with washed up old actors not giving up their likeness rights anyways? You'd think they'd be grateful for the attention after not making a single notable movie in decades. The marines from Aliens need to stop being a greedy fucks and give Neca the rights to make the rest of the figures we want.

Because most of hollywood is made up of liberal assholes who like to pretend shit while in their own ass and as humans age, they lose testosterone, making them less inclined to violence.

So you ultimately end up with a bunch of sheltered hypocritical pussies who never signed away their likeness rights like with the majority of pre-90s movies, thus have control over what their likenesses can be featured in.
So it's unlikely it's ever about greed, but rather, their hypocritical morals.

More often than not, the license holder for pre-90s movies doesn't have the likeness rights to the actors.
It wasn't really until Star Wars came out that someone started monetizing actors likenesses and like with most likeness rights, actors really have no say in how/what/where/when/why their likeness is used, because they signed that away with their movie contract.

In the case of many 80s movies? The only person with the likeness rights is the actor themselves, who lets his agent/agency deal with it and in 99.52434234% of cases, the actor set out how much his likeness is worth and how it can be used.

There's some old gems. The Super Predators are decent, Bad Blood, the Dead End trio, The Kenner ones, Lost Tribe. you could even get the ones in the boxes, like the VGA Pred 1 and Pred 2 or the DH Predator.

As someone who owns over 20 Predators, I can't say I'll be picking up any more of the old style figures. I already have City Hunter, Jungle Hunter, Big Red, Wasp, Borg, Shaman, Ahab, most of the rare ones except a few of the lost tribe.
They're still great figures, but their articulation just isn't up to the standards set by wave 14. And considering most of the older waves are selling for above retail, it doesn't seem worth picking them up when you could have a much better figure for £20/$20.
Unless you really want a particular predator who will most likely not be remade (Neca has confirmed they will eventually make ultimate Jungle Hunter/City Hunter figures), I'd say stick with wave 14 and wait for future releases.

That's like....the majority of the figures pre-AvP, though.

Honestly, they'll never remake 90% of the figures they've already done. There'll probably be an ultimate Jungle Hunter and City Hunter some day, Wolf Pred will get an update (supposedly in 2017 sometime....and with yet another new body sculpt) and there have been rumors of the possibility of the revisiting the Predators trio.

But they'll never touch the weird shit like Kenner and Dead End again, I'm sure, so the only thing you can do is just get the ones already out there if you just want a representation of the character to put on your shelf.

And they said from the start they aren't retiring the old JH and CH bodies. I would bet money that they are going to use one of the old bodies for that Stalker Kenner Predator. Because the head is just the Snake/Viper head with some new sculpted parts added on like the horns, and the old style heads are too small and look pretty dumb on the AvP bodies.

I know this makes sense from a business perspective, but are folks really going to go crazy for older versions of the predator bodies when we've all had a taste of the amazing AvP articulation?

Well, they're definitely going to use the AvP body more. We've already seen they're going to use it for the Kenner Clan Leader, Concrete Jungle Pred, and some other upcoming figures.

So they definitely plan on using the better body a lot.
