>>5438366I wouldn't use that comparison really, their dislikes are entirely different in scope and how it developed over the years. Most of the cast in general disliked the idea of star wars at first, but rather quickly embraced it to some degree, all except for Alec. Alec at first scoffed at the idea of the film, to him it was some silly nilly childish fairy tale in space nonsense, but signed on anyway because of the extremely large paycheck offered and the premise seemed to at least have a decent moral of good wins sort of thing.
Immediately after the film was finished he had a very brief period of time in which he developed a grudging respect towards the film, he would both praise it's grandour and special effects and scoff at it's childishness in the same breath. But then the fan following showed how much they loved star wars, and it was ALL downhill for Alec's appreciation of the film. The only good thing he ever had to say about it was how much money it made him and how he could live off just the royalties of the movie for the rest of his life, and eventually really hated the films for how all his previous achievements in his life of acting appeared to be completely unknown to the younger generation. To him he was most famous for a role in a namby pamby nonsensical children's rubbish fairy tale in space film, and that wounded his pride.
Ford on the other hand grew to like the character and enjoy the films. Unlike Alec, and most of the other stars for that matter, Ford continued to land some big and extremely well known roles and films, he was not only Han Solo, he was also Indiana, the President of the United States, Decker, and so on. In fact he recently stated in an interview that he feels he was completely mistaken for thinking that killing off Han in the second film would have been better for the story.
