I don't think people got very attached to the setting or characters in Hero Factory, but i can see some kids finding the Bionicle sets a bit dull compared to how creative and off the wall some of the Hero Factory stuff could get.

At the same time, the last HF line was Invasion from Below, which was hardly the strongest of the HF lines.

Honestly, of all the themes that could get constraction lines after G2 ends Nexo Knights seems like one of the few that may actually work. The characters are armoured up enough that it can avoid the issues plaguing human characters in CCBS as Star Wars has demonstrated.

I don't know about the others, but Ikir's head can fit over Tahu's just fine even with the 2015 eyestalk.
If anything it's better, because Ikir's neck is stopped just at the right distance for his head to prefectly fit as a helmet, without requiring any more adjusting.

Turning Tahu's head becomes slightly more difficult, but it's a minor issue that didn't really require a new mold to be made.

The only issue I have with it is the shoulder articulation. You have to fiddle with the mixel joints a bit to get any kind of outward range, but putting a couple of 1x2 plate in there could help with that.

Not a bad fix, man. Not bad at all - though I think I'm going to keep the technic upper arms on mine.

I humbly offer another fix, this time for Lewa. Not sure if it's been done, but probably since it's remarkably simple. I promised myself to try and refrain from touching him but the stubby arms bugged me too much.

He can still unite with Uxar with no problem - though his forelegs can no longer be pointed down as the Hordika necks get in the way of the CCBS bone. Putting them flush with his upper wingpiece is an elegant solution, I find.

This may seem like a strange question, but in what order do you all have the G1 main elements memorized?
For some reason, I always automatically think Fire->Water->Earth->Stone->Ice->Air, despite most listings I have seen being ordered differently.

I prefer him as an insectoid, but your mod is pretty neat - since Lewa does look a little reptilian this time around, a tail suits him.

I do wonder if it would be possible to make a creature with a 'tail whip' function. If it could be done elegantly, I'd love to see someone make a velociraptor or (something similar) on the same scale as the other creatures for him.

The 2015 eyestalk has no issues with the unity gimmick.

I've been switching out the eyes on all of my sets to match my 2015 sets (orange for Tahu and Pohatu, lime for gali, lewa, and onua, ice-blue for kopaka)

The new eyestalk just helps the masks not pop off if you breathe too hard.

Terak is a perfect mole.

Mellum would be a close second, but his legs are too stubby.

Ketar is the worst. Plug up the gear function, articulate the stinger, and add another small bone to the blade-legs....he'll be...passable.

and finally, united with Pohatu. Functionally in Unite mode he gives the Toa the same silhouette as Ketar does - but the function is now in the tail, rather than the shoulderblade blades.

At a rough sum-up, he has 65 pieces - taking into account the lack of Shadow Trap, that makes him pretty comparable to Ikir and Terak in terms of piece count.

I was kinda disappointed that it ended so abrupt since there were tons of foreshadowing and unresolved plot threads and wished that HF and Bionicle would've run alongside each other with one having a consistent mythical/mystical aesthetic and storyline and the other one in contrast being about over the top, creative and unorthodox designs held together through a basic premise.

Oh well, at least IfB was a MUCH better farewell-line with its System-compatible mini-heroes than the Stars.

Anon from the last thread who wasn't sure about getting the protectors here, I stopped on my way home and picked up all but ice and water (which there were none of) and I'm so glad. They're absolutely adorable, I like them a lot now that I have them in hand. Also picked up LoSS to combine with Kulta, so a good haul altogether.

I liked some of the earlier HF sets not for the build or the design, but the idea that their projectile weapons actually looks like a proper hand held firearm instead of the usual clip ball shooter. They had some great parts for making a gun.

Sadly, that's what seems to be happening with the skullies. I remain hopeful that Journey to One or that possible flashback graphic novel will deliver some backstory for them on the side.

Also those sets actually look great to be honest, Umarak's legs arent as retarded at least, storm beast's arms have some ugly exposed sockets, but besides that they dont look bad from what we can see from this awful res image. UtD looks a LOT better than he did in the pelim in general though it might just be the angle. He looks bulky as hell and its good to see those horns are gold, not tan.

I have been 'working on' this moc for what feels like a lifetime. Progress is slow, but I will not falter! Even so, the progress I have made requires many adjustments before I can continue making any significant headway.

I have completely run out of technic ball joints with through holes, despite my sureness that I had many more. The knee joints stick out like sore thumbs and will continue to do so until I can get the parts in their correct colors, and one of the thighs is missing its armor.

The shoulder joints in their current state do not allow the arms to be positioned horizontally, this must be rectified. Additionally, the neck and shoulder assembly is not rigid, and will flop around when jiggled.

Aside from the gaps below the shoulder and behind the neck, I'm quite satisfied with the rahkshi shell on the back, even if the connection is of questionable legality.

Onua's is black, but here's the thing with those blended colors, its the trans color with the other color blended into it, not the other way around, its why Tahu's 2016 mask is so much darker than normal red, because the silver is showing through, with Black, the neon green brightens it up, making it appear gunmetal.

Im literally on here for the exact same reason you are, and have been since before they reintroduced bionicle. There's no need to use replies on calling each other names, though this thread shouldnt go off-topic regarding topics that concern ttv more than bionicle itself. Which I think were some people's concern in the first place. The general attitude of most people on here is incredibly good, it'd be a shame to see it go, let's try to keep it the way it is.

Onto the sets themselves: most of the beasts dont have particular shapes that are easily identified from the photo, which is why I find them intriguing but I cant really have any opinion on them just yet.

I really dont like Umarak the destroyer actually, he just seems like another brute monster character and was quite fond of the more unique wave one Umarak. I will give them props for new titan designs though.

UtD's main sorta issue is that he doesnt look like Umarak, who I think we almost all agree is one of the coolest sets of G2, and as a character design, possible one of the more interesting in ALL of Bionicle, but Destroyer is a bit on the generic side, even though I like him as a set.

I'm sure my opinions of UtD will change once we know the full circumstances of his transformation though.

Personally, Ekimu seems like the weakest of the whole wave. He's a pretty bland humanoid build and I think the only redeeming feature is the recolored UtH mask. I could care less about UtD, and I am totally stoked for the beasts, especially Quake Beast and his weird drill-mace-arm-thing that's more than likely a function.

Really as a wave I feel these guys are WAY better looking from the get-go than the Skull villains were, the skull guys I ended up liking in spite of their glaringly obvious set ruining problems, but these guys really appeal to me. I personally feel like a lot of the initial criticism came from a combination of these guys not being as unique as we had hoped, and a lot of us EXPECTING them to be bad like last summer, and thus seeing them through more skeptical eyes.

idk man, I liked the 2015 sets at the time, but after getting Tahu and Lewa Uniter (they were the first two I got, followed by Kopaka, Gali, Onua, and their respective creatures (no pohatu yet because holding out hope for a chest printing fix)) the old models just seemed really plain to me, compared to the new ones they looked too much like toys I guess, especially with the dopey masks most of them had combined with the lack of any sort of neck and Tahu's flat lower legs. The open ball joints also started to bother me, so I tore apart all my skull villains except basher, tore apart all my Toa except Pohatu, turned the rest of the skull crew into making Kulta not look pathetically small next to the uniters, and now use the 2015 parts for MOCs and little improvements to the Uniters.

Don't own any Hero Factory sets because I stopped collecting constraction at 2009 when I didnt like the direction it was going, the only reason I would go back to those sets is for those solid-colored bone pieces which Bionicle has failed to bring us despite some figures like Tahu Uniter being able to benefit greatly from them.

Lewa and Pohatu in general are two characters who's G2 personalities I personally find a lot more charming than their old ones, Lewa's sarcastic remarks come off a lot better than his fast-talking treespeak, and Pohatu's australianism is also pretty fresh compared to his old light-hearted self.

Onua is more or less the same as G1, Tahu and Kopaka are similar to their old counterparts but it is hard to tell since they havent had much dialogue that isnt the two of them arguing, and Gali has had almost no lines at all, instead spends all her time glaring at the other toa judgmentally with one of her eyes half closed.

I got two of every 2015 Toa, and currently one set is posing and the other set is combined as Kaita.

Once I start getting the Uniters, either the Kaita or the Masters will have to be disassembled. Still not sure on that, since the Masters are better display than the Kaita, but the Kaita take up less space.

I think it has more to do with the geography of Okoto than anything. They couldn't very well call the dense jungle area of the island "the region of air," and they wanted the regions to match the titles of the Toa. So Jungle it became.

It does work out in general, while the region of jungle is the outlier in that it was shielded from the great cataclysm by the mountain the center of Okoto and thus is undamaged while the 5 other regions all used to look like the region of jungle but are now different, it would break the theme of the island having six elements fundamental to it's structure that manifest in the geography with air, since its hard to come up with an 'air' biome.

Plus kids always said Lewa had plant powers since he was green in G1, and the story team probably decided it was best to give him both plant and wind control to make everyone happy. There are other possible factors, like the absurdity of a lack of any plant-life-controlling character on a team with the redundancies of an ice and water, as well as earth and stone characters. (do remember that Pohatu and Kopaka only exist due to how lego handled it's production line so their powers ended up kind of redundant as a result).

I think the second half of 2016 will take place in the Region of Fire, seeing as most of the boxes have volcanoes on them. Also if it is the island off of the Region of Fire that contains the Labyrinth of Control, makes sense as a location progression.

Yes, but for me the images need to be pressed and then instantly pressed and held for them to stay pressed, and after that I have to copypaste a huge wall of alphanumeric gibberish generated after selecting the images into a little box, and my phone refuses to select said wall of text.

Least shitty of the bunch, part selection is surprisingly decent. Blades are killer, chest is rad, and trans neon orange bones are great. Extra mask is fucking useless though.

As a person who buys these things for mocing, I'm thoroughly disappointed. These will be tough to mod.

anyways, a bigger stumbling block is the trans-purple bohrok eyes. the only stores that have enough of them are international with a $15+ minimum buy.
