So i just bought this at-te without rex and anakin and few bars and lightsabers missing. I've already ordered the missing parts and figures and everything is around 70 euros.
I can't understand why people keep them assembled to collect dust, I was sneezing the whole time disassembling it just so I can clean the legos.
Does everyone here clean second hand legos like crazy? What do you use and how ?

Haven't bought second hand lego, but I've sold sets that were collecting dust. A good seller would probably dust them off before disassembling, and wash the pieces if they were that bad..

I've never had to clean secondhand ones, but my own sets on shelves have ended up caked in dust.

I just lightly wash em with water in the sink or shower without disassembling. (with the drain blocked of course)

It was not a bricklink seller, but a local seller who just had few star wars sets with a few missing pieces. If I bricklinked the set used complete, with shipping it would have cost me over 110 euros. It's rare that you can find somewhat cheaper sets in local markets or flea markets as there are lot of scalpers everywhere (hell I met one bricklink seller who bragged of buying the whole isle full of duplos 30% off and later selling them for twice as much).
Haven't had dirty pieces with bricklink users, they always clean, well those from whom i bought, but I clean them again since it's entering my house

well cleaning yours lego is a whole different ordeal, it's your stuff, ofcourse you know where it was and what you did with it. Exception is when a hamster shits on your legos or you buy second hand.

Looks like the tank and jet split, it's part of PlusL. They take sets and turn them into transformers or something anime looking. Unfortunately they force you to buy the instructions.

TKH's heads rather nicely allow for changes in "expression", but I couldn't be assed to peel her head open enough to give her different mouthes.

The leg design I came up with works rather well IMO, though on Banny here it's limited somewhat by the thickness of her calves caused by overlapping the plates holding them together.

Unlike Banny, this lady has an articulated torso. It's pretty nice and works relatively well, but towball axle pieces are looser than standard towballs, and her midsection also falls off sometimes due to the simplicity of its connection.

Fighter lady's legs can bend further than Banny's due to how the calves are thinner.

Normally I would've reversed the order of the plates holding her legs together, but the 1x1 towball studs rotate best when not near normal bricks.

The build is coming along nicely, gents. I hate stickers, since they're hard to apply correctly and they make reusing pieces more difficult. I felt like these ones were needed, though, because they tell you which position does what function.

As I said in one of the previous threads, I'm probably one of the few people who wishes Lego hadn't switched over from bricks to studless beams in their Technic line. I understand that you can do more with the beams, but I still prefer the bricks.

Do you guys know of any sets--Technic or otherwise--that utilize a lot of Technic bricks and are still in production? Are there cheaper ways to get a lot of assorted Technic bricks at once, like buying in bulk somewhere?

I'm just not crazy about buying secondhand.

Fortrex is great, and I love how it folds out if you want a nice stationary base.

Evil Mobile isn't as great, the lava monster is a big disappointment because he's pretty small. If you have Infernox though he hooks up to it as well, and serves as a much more menacing mount.

I got my Plo-Koon's Starfighter and was really disappointed with it since Plo-Koon was all messed up and the two important stickers on the front peeled off. The build also isn't as nice as in Saesee Tiin's starfighter or Anakin's Custom one.
Interestingly enough when I ordered a Slave 1 from 2006 online it came with some parts for a some sort of a stand as well, even though I hadn't paid for any.

DC has had lego before marvel did anyway. We didn't get lego marvel till after disney bought marvel and the megabloks license had to run out. DC will always be ahead of marvel in lego. Though all these marvel movies will help. I prefer comic/cartoon versions though.

4-LOM and Zuckuss both have never been released as actual figures. 4-LOM gets an appearance in one of the Lego Star Wars movies or whatever, and Zuckuss has been in one of the Lego Star Wars games. I've never seen a screen shot of him in the game, though.

Price per part was never really "good" or rather "the same" as it was today.

I've noticed the older sets like the big pirate ships, the big space bases, the big castle sets that were often $80-$100 usually only had about 400-600 pieces. However, there were always large, terrained baseplates in space and castle sets for forts/space stations, big ship parts for pirate ships, big wing and canopy parts for lots of space ships, etc.

It's just that with modern sets, it seems like you get way more 1x1s, 1x2s etc. that are way more specialized for shaping and detailing.

This is also true. When you buy an old big set, it's often very large, but hollow. A new big set is much more solid, but small enough to make you say, "is that it?" Even though there's 500 pieces in that TIE Fighter, it doesn't seem like it.

Mixels are god-tier for beginner MF0 players, because most of the sets have modern hinges and ball-joints (make sure to check before you buy, as some of the Mixels don't come with the fun new joints). Just saw the series 9 Mixels.

The ninja and the cleanup ones look pretty good, but the newscaster ones seem mediocre. They'll probably be better in hand though.

I was about to say that since the Canon Restructuring of 2014, Lego won't do any old EU sets like they did starting with the TIE Crawler, but after Anakin's Jedi starfighter from the 2D CW series was released, I think their policy is that if enough people want it, anything goes regardless of canon or Legends.

I just got some string reels off Bricklink and the string itself was deteriorated all to hell.
I actually had to peel and scrape it off the spool because it wouldn't unroll without falling to bits.

Try making one by yourself. I did based on the instructions booklet. I spent like 4.50 + shipping for 1 (I did Macy and Lance horses, so it was 11.00 burger buckos). I'm only just waiting for Clay's and Axl's horses, there some differences on color. Will post mine after work.
