Pretty sure your picture is of silly putty or some shit. Gak looked like literal snot.

Also, Floam was the shit. Shame that both Gak and Floam smelled so bad. That stuff reeked to high hell and the smell would even get on your hands.

Not op, but that for sure looks like some of the later colored gak. It had more of a solid consistency, but was still way goopier than silly putty.

Could also be homemade gak, a lot of people did that.

Are you familiar with the old nikolodeon game shows? Know the the green slime used on double dare? gak is the toy version of the slime designed to not make nearly as much mess. It has similarity to silly putty but has a much lower viscosity so it seems like a liquid like slime. It was also marketed for having a unique farting noise it made whenever it was pushed into its storage container.
