>>5456478I felt it it really made Spidey LESS interesting, despite it not trying to make it more interesting. It not being a coincidence that Peter became Spidey really kinda...I dunno, just didn't sit right with me. Anyone could've been Spider-Man but it just so happened to be him because it was just that way.
It being all part of some cosmic plan just takes away the coolness of that. It also felt like a bit of generic "chosen one" story because of that. Admittedly even if I didn't like it, they executed it well and I can see why you like it. Morlun was kinda cool, even if I didn't like him too much, I felt he was almost too much of an attempt at being the ultimate Spidey foe. Maybe I'd feel better about him if he just fucking stayed dead but I don't think that's JMS' fault to be fair. Ezekiel was a cool guy, though. Probably my favorite part.
>I just miss good Spider-man. It's been so long.Boy I hear ya there. No good recent comics, no good recent video games, no good recent movies, no good recent cartoons...shit sucks.
Spider-Verse literally sucked my enthusiasm for Spider-Man out. It's possibly the worst Spider-Man story ever, imo. Maybe even worse than OMD and Sin's Past. I hated Spider-Verse so much.
And don't worry, I read those three and loved them. Especially Superior Foes. Can't wait til we get a Shocker figure.
