Lobo was a super-strong guy who could breathe in space, heal super fast(which made his defeat in DC/Marvel total bullshit since he surpasses Wolverine and he's taken far worse than 3 knives to the chest- hence DC saying Professor X paid him to take a dive) and would violently pummel anyone who pissed him off.
