Got Pohatu and his Uniter, tried to do the mod anon posted, but then I realized I am missing the necessary parts to do it. I ended up just doing the default build with some minor cosmetic changes. Took me a while to figure out a decent uniter config with his scorpion buddy.

I've always found that looking at both official sets and other people's MOCs really helps me with building my own stuff. My personal preferences for build inspiration comes from non-canister Toa from G1, the Barraki, and very System/Technic-heavy MOCs (that last one would probably be more apparent if I had more technic parts, let alone more parts in general).
Also play around with connections and see what works. I've been messing around with system parts for the last week or so and have been pleasantly surprised by how effective they are at making BIG MEATY CLAWS

So I got my first bionicle, onua uniter of earth and the very first step, where you connect the spine with the crotch is not fucking working for me. The parts don't stick while clearly in the instructions they seem to do so. I thought there would be some part to add later but nope, I'm close to the end and nothing goes there.

Please for the love of fuck, tell me what I'm doing wrong. It can't be this way right? Just the two parts of the body seperated, I'm sure they somehow should stick together to make one solid body.

So I'm currently planning out a Necron MOC in LDD, and right now I'm pretty satisfied with the look but am a tad worried that this dude might be a bit flimsy.
You guys got any ideas? Maybe I should use a technic beam instead of what I've currently got going on with the spine, and I'm thinking about using Skull Warrior's head/mask instead of Hydraxon's mask.

Crap shoulders and weapons aside, Uniter Pohatu and his buddy are good. I ended up just using the rock as a flail.
I have been trial and error testing things like accomodating a gear box, but then I can't use the uniter piece.

Uniter Pohatu's shoulders were okay for me, the only real flaw is his colour scheme - and maybe the length of his spear if you want to connect it up to his flail.

He's a handsome fella' once you get his colour distribution to your liking.

Resin wouldn't be strong enough to work so well with balljoint connections, especially if they're weight-bearing ones. My masks so far are just barely able to fit on a G2 head the right way, and that's mostly because of friction rather than the connectors actually lining up right.

I'd like to see the people who make shapeways custom parts try to make casts of their prints, though. Might be doable in plastic, but I haven't worked with any plastics. Would probably get results comparable to bootlegs.

In any way, I wouldn't reccomend resin for parts that have more than one connector or are weight bearing.

I've used proxies to check the page in a few different languages, and of what I've tried so far, only Italy seems to give the same date. Hopefully it's just coming later in those countries, even though it seems weird that a delayed date would be published before the normal one.

Since I hadmy lightbox running, I took a picture of Kopaka... with my phone. yeah, I wonder why I did that too. The sword is pretty much done apart from the colours that need to change, the thighs will change to earth blue below the crystal armors, already ordered that. Also, I ordered another sticker sheet from the set since I'll build a slightly larger shield, while keeping the minigun. Also, already said that but the shoulders will be modified as well, and I'm thinking about remaking Melum completely.

What do you think, /biog/ ?

I just want lewa and Gali and kopaka 2015 but now its way too late

The red pins are from the original set, the shoulders will change anyway, they won't be here once I'll find a better solution. The gold is a choice since I want a 3/3 ratio on silver and gold for the Toa. I do think it will look better with new shoulders and upper arms to add some more white to the equation.

Well I do have some of them in a bookshelf with glass doors but there's only so much space in there. It's only one fig though.

If I had the room, I'd have a proper work table sort of thing (illustration and sculpting) over a display case though.

You sure it isnt stuck in the box somewhere? it wouldn't of come in a bag.

Did it come with extras of a different piece? Thats a relatively heavy piece so it shouldnt have gotten past quality control.
